Warner Bros. is developing a Supergirl solo movie and it already has a writer. There's several DC movies making progress at Warner Bros. now that Walter Hamada is taking over. This has signaled a change in their approach with more fun, young, and lighthearted films being made the priorities. There's also been an emphasis put on female-led movies, whether those be Wonder Woman 1984, Birds of Prey, or Batgirl.
One character fans have been dying to see brought back to the big screen, though, is Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl. She currently has her own TV series on The CW, but that looks like it isn't enough exposure for her. Now, WB and DC are looking to bring her to theaters with a solo movie.

Deadline reports 22 Jump Street writer Oren Uziel has been hired to write the script for Warner Bros. and DC Films' Supergirl. There are no other details at this time, but it marks a major move by the studio to get a movie starring a Kryptonian off the ground - even if it isn't the one many would've expected.

If this wasn't clear already, this movie will have no relation to the series or version of the character played by Melissa Benoist, as confirmed by The Wrap. Should Supergirl get past the screenwriting phase, then she'll become one of a few characters to possibly exist on the small and big screen simultaneously. There's currently multiple versions of Barry Allen's Flash, with Grant Gustin playing him in the Arrowverse while Ezra Miller has the role on the big screen. Even though a different actress will play Kara, the tone will reportedly be comparable to the CW show.

While the announcement of a solo movie is slightly surprising at this stage, there's already some Supergirl lore in the DCEU. The
prequel comic to Man of Steel introduced her, and the empty pod in the movie was a clue that Kara exists in the DCEU. Whether or not this movie and script actually acknowledge those ties remains to be seen. They could easily disregard them since there hasn't been explicit Supergirl set up on the screen. That will be up for Uziel to decide, with Supergirl marking the latest high-profile project for him to land - following Cloverfield Paradox, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and the Mortal Kombatreboot.

With
Supergirl getting a movie, many will undoubtedly hope this means there's movement in the Krypto-sphere. Supergirl and Superman go hand-in-hand, so this would be another opportunity for Henry Cavill to appear. If his sequel ever happens, then Kara could even be introduced there should it come first. Either way, Supergirl currently looks to have a future on the big screen.

[h=1]Warner Bros. Reportedly Wants A Female Director For Supergirl Movie[/h]

Warner Bros. wants to hire another female director for a DC movie, and Supergirl is the next hopeful landing spot. Following an undoubtedly rocky start, the DC Universe is now making strides in hopefully the right direction. While the quality of the movies remains to be seen, the one move everyone is excited for is their diverse lineup of voices helming and starring in upcoming projects. Their focus has especially turned to making more female-driven films, and Supergirl looks to be the latest one on their list.
It was recently revealed that 22 Jump Street writer Oren Uziel is going to write the script for a Supergirl solo movie. At the time, it was unclear just how big of a priority Supergirl was for WB and DC. While the script is still in the early phases, the studio already has some thoughts on who should direct the film. There's no shortlist or even one contender right now, but they do want a woman to direct.

Deadline shared the news that Warner Bros. is being "very vocal about wanting to employ another female director" for Supergirl. Any real director search may still be months away at this point, but this information at least gives everyone an idea of what type of directors they'll be looking for. It is just the latest DC film that is targeting a female director and whoever ultimately gets the job will join a talented group.

WB and DC's interest in hiring more female directors to craft female-led stories isn't just coming as a result of a need for more diversity in filmmaking, but also as the direct result of Wonder Woman's success. Patty Jenkins broke box office records left and right with the film. The pairing of her and Gadot made Wonder Woman shine and made her the only choice to direct the sequel. Jenkins is back for Wonder Woman 1984 following contract negotiations that saw her break through Hollywood's glass ceiling to receive top dollar pay.

Jenkins isn't the only female director WB has enlisted for a DC film though. They previously hired
Ava DuVernay to develop and direct New Gods. The ambitious project is still in the early phases of development too, but DuVernay is a beloved and talented voice in Hollywood. They also brought Cathy Yan onboard to direct Birds of Prey, which will make her the first female Asian director on a comic book film. The studio is also looking for a female director for Batgirl after Joss Whedon left the project. There's plenty of big and currently unknown names WB can court for Supergirl, so hopefully this mindset doesn't change once the director search actually begins.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.

After I watched it, I never felt like i watched a show. It was a friggin journey. I got way too attached to Thorfinn and seeing him grow up and find himself and get rid of all the negativity inside of him was just pure bliss.

With how great cod warzone has translated onto mobile. Mainstream Consoles have lost its value even further. Maybe console gaming was associated with TVs and how TV is not the primary source of media consumption anymore, consoles will lose its 200 million core audiences even further.
