Actually an extra language is always an asset, regardless of whether you're in Pakistan or abroad. I've filled out application forms for many foreign unis, and just about every one, whether it be in USA, Malaysia or Germany ask how many languages you're proficient in.

It doesn't matter if Urdu is barely spoken outside Pakistan, it's still another language, and thus, adds to your ability to communicate and interact with other people.
And sir that is why the A level Urdu carries full credits for most universities in the U.K :)

---------- Post added at 03:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:08 AM ----------

I'm talking about O Levels. It's NOT considered a language in O Levels in the US. Not sure about the UK.
Ohh I was talking about A levels then.
A Levels Urdu carries full credit :)

My brother has done I.COM from here and has done IELTS too, He could get 5.5 bands with IELTS. He wants to go to a foreign country to do BBA and MBA together. When i consulted a college in Manchester they said that he cannot have any working hours there as it is against UK laws.

He wants to study and wants to work there aswell to cover a part of his study's expenditure with his own earnings. Although i heard one can work in UK if he takes admission in a University instead of a College.

He has consulted a Malaysian college as well:

http://www.taylors.edu.my

But by totalling the cost of everything food, residence e.t.c by the college it sums up to a total of 20 lakh or above for the complete study and i dont think a malaysian college is worth that.

A helpful reply would be appreciated if there is any good UK, Australian or Malaysian College or University he can apply to and get working hours aswell.,

I have also heard Malaysian BBA is of the same value as done from Pakistan?

  1. Universities in Malaysia have different classes.
  2. If he does it from a good university then his degree would be well recognized all over the world but don't expect top notch universities in Malaysia to be cheap.
  3. He can find work in Malaysia though so IMO Malaysia is the safest bet for him at the moment.
  4. The United kingdom has many prestigious universities but getting into them isn't a walk in the park.
  5. Regents business school is good, it isn't cheap but it is good though and it is in central London near Regents park.
  6. Look at the first post of this thread, I have posted the Fee Structure and living costs in U.K.
  7. You cannot study and work in UK, that is the law there and it is considered illegal for a student to work and study.
  8. Secondly UK does not give out work permits even once someone has completed his/her undergrad or post-grad courses .
  9. I do not much about Australian universities but one thing I can say is that the education over there isn't cheap.

Anyways here is the Fee Structure and living costs for Australia:

FEE STRUCTURE:
University
Undergraduate
Postgraduate
Foundation studies

A$16,000–$25,000 per year
A$14000 – $23,000 per year
A$15000–$25,000 per year

ACCOMMODATION COSTS:

Homestay (living with an Australian family)A$110-270 per week
Full Board and mealsA$180-250 per week
University residential collegesA$180-280 per week
University halls of residenceA$100-160 per week
Private or church-owned boarding hostelsA$90-130 per week
Share accommodationA$70-250 per week
Rental accommodationA$100 -400 per week
Secondary school boardingA$8000 -11,000 per year
Hotels and Guest HousesA$80 – 135 per week
Boarding SchoolsA$10000 – 20000 a year
Campus AccommodationA$80 – 250 per week

LIVING EXPENSES:
The average international student in Australia spends about A$360 per week on food, accommodation, clothing, local transport, telephone, gas/electricity, stationery, and entertainment, although this varies significantly by location and lifestyle.

And this the Fee structure for Uk

Well, I'll be going to Malaysia for a single year in August followed by Manitoba, Canada for the rest of my studies. I am to inform the university when I'm going to arrive so they can make arrangements to pick me up from the airport. I'll be going on a visit visa, which they will convert to a student visa once I get there.

One very important thing to do before going abroad is to go through the country's laws. They can vary from country to country and sometimes, even states. You don't want to get into trouble for engaging in acts you didn't know were illegal. An example would be Alcohol in Malaysia. They have a dual-law system, Shariah law for Muslims and a different system for non-muslims. Muslims aren't allowed consumption of alcohol so this may lead some of you liberal into trouble.

As for a job, most countries don't allow off-campus work on a student visa. Some don't even allow on campus work. Malaysia only allows you to work above the age of 21 and that too, not on a visit/student visa.

For me, housing is provided by the university, in the university. For anyone who's interested in what my dorms look like.
Spoiler: show

It's included in the yearly cost but broken down on a monthly basis, it'd be $250 including food. This would be a shared room between two people. If you want the room for yourself, it would cost double the amount. In the U.S, however, it's $800 on average.

Since I have not studied abroad, I can't share any experiences or tips. However, it's important to realise that it's a multicultural environment, unlike Pakistan. The people have different views, perspectives, beliefs, tastes, preferences and mindsets.

Hope this was useful. :)

i am currently studying in malaysia, swinburne university. well keep one thing in mind. monthly cost is no less than 1000-1100 rm/month which is 340-370 usd. and students are allowed to work on campus, (student helper, teaching assistant) and outside u may get some opertunity to work on few days jobs for example city traffic study, these kinda jobs pay u well normally 50-100 rm/day but they don't come out that often. but anyways malaysia is not a good place for students who think they can bear their own expenses through work.
and yes, if u smoke...add 100 usd for smoking one pack/day :D

From what I understand, Off-Campus is anyways usually not allowed whereas in On-Campus, you'd still need some qualifications for that too (Its mostly a no win situation). On-Campus tutoring (if it happens at your uni) is an option, provided you're good at that particular subject.

---------- Post added at 11:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:40 AM ----------

100 USd per pack of what Cuban Cigars WTH!
Its also way expensive in the states, reason being high taxes on smoking as its anyways harmful to the health (and people still buy it).

My counselor did mention that sometimes if the university staff needs help with something, they do ask students for help and give them an amount of pay though this pay was harrowing so I just disregarded it.
The 250$ I mentioned were solely the room rent and the inclusion of food which is being provided by my university. Any extra expenditure obviously depends on your own personal needs. I do suppose you're right, a bag of chips here, a t-shirt or two there, travel costs, fast food and other expenses would result in something around $300.
