Twitch is buffering quite a lot, even at 160p. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? It's very annoying.
PeeTCL user here and I can confirm that I am also facing buffering issues on 360p, its working fine in 160p but there is no point in watching streams as it just hurts my eyes.

StormFiber uses CGNAT which causes the strict nat type issue so you can't do anything except contacting them and ask for a static IP or any other possible solution. DMZ, port-forwarding etc won't work.

Guys need your opinion.
I have a 50 mbps PTCL VDSL2 connection. I have literally zero complaints. Very smooth streaming and downloads. I usually get 5 to 6 mbps downloading. And half that uploading.
Stormfiber just went live in my area. Do you think it is better to switch to it? I am not looking for gaming. Just better download speeds, and also if possible more economical.

Compare prices online, if SF is offering 50 Mbps for cheaper, then switch.

Otherwise, 'If it ain't broke don't fix it'. PTCL is working fine for people who aren't concerned with pings, so I'd just keep using it until you start having problems.

One more reason why you might want to switch over to Stormfiber: when there's a cable cut, local ISPs who have taken bandwidth from both PTCL and TW can switch over seamlessly.

IF you take Transworld or PTCL only, you'll be stuck with only what they have. No hedging is possible.

StormFiber doesn't switch any of their customers to TW now.

So in case there's a cable cut at PTCL's end, then...? I know us guys on PTCL (the ISP) are stuck, but other ISPs should be able to "fall back" onto alternate routes.

Anyone else experiencing buffering while watching Twitch streams during peak hours? It used to be an issue with PTCL all the time and now it has started to happen on SF too. Not surprised since they are expanding so fast and their network will be oversubscribed soon. Just hope that PEACE cable project will fix these issues.

I just got free and started surfing youtube for videos. Buffering speed seemed too slow. Checked the stats on youtube for connection to them and it was indeed slow on it. Just opened my email to lodge complaint and I had an email from stormfiber already from 2 days ago. I had to go over 2 phone calls and reread the email two times and get to validate that they suspended/downgraded my account for thinking that my connection is being sublet and erroneous download/upload data since these are PTA rules. Upon telling them on phone that"I have 8 people in home with most of them using more than 4 laptops + 1 desktop +1 networked printer more than 8 phones, they are bound to see many devices. I am not selling the services I got from stormfiber to any else at all." They told me to visit the regional office and this can't be solved over phone. I guess I am stuck at measly 1mb connection for 2 whole days. Even Monday is not confirmed as to whether I can go to office or not. Also No idea what sort of curved questions they are gonna ask me for going over 1TB.

There are just too many people in my home watching dramas online to cooking shows, utorrent games and movies streaming etc. Any help in this regard?

After using stormfiber since September 2017 and I still kept my PTCL connection at 6mbps for backup purposes and got stormfiber due to TV services using same cabling for my home for analogue TVs and got fiber optic connection.

These are the cons of stormfiber to me so far since double NAT:
  1. The changes of double NAT throwing a wrench in IP services for cameras etc alongside online game hosting of mine with old games, most don't even play except for few online friends.
  2. Now this fair usage policy out of nowhere to suspend/downgrade my account and no margin of error and that limit of 1TB on all packages including 100mbps connections.
  3. Alongside the rates compared with PTCL, PTCL have now better rates when comparing 25mbps and above packages to Stormfiber's 20mbps and above packages.
  4. PTCL smart app for digital TV's work very well.
  5. Stormfiber have more lag due to unknown thing for me. I have played direct IP games and public servers. Stormfibers have more lag than PTCL. Specially when self hosted games even though I used to host games on 1 mb upload and 8mp download connection. I still have PTCL to compare and it was the same.

Pros of stormfiber:
  1. So far always getting fixed in time, even though PTCL also get fixed in time for me. More like less breakdowns compared to PTCL.
  2. Digital tv channel range is good. But I haven't even checked the whole of PTCL smart TV. Nor of it's device.

Thus the day I get proper excuse or anything else I will be getting rid of stormfiber.
I am currently paying Rs. 1980/= for 6mbps connection of PTCL and it is not unlimited thus lower rate + Rs. 2641/= for triple play 10 mbps for stormfiber per month. Total price of Rs. 4621/= . I would be opting to go for 25mbps of PTCL when I leave Stormfiber, it would only cost me Rs. 4224/= only and better package(I am getting 2TB monthly Fair usage policy limit from PTCL FUP) compared to Stormfiber 20mbps at Rs. 3960/=.
