Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

God of War's PS5 update is an 'almost flawless upgrade' as per DF.

Perhaps not completely flawless... but almost! Tapping into the backwards compatibility features of PlayStation 5, the new 1.35 patch for God of War allows users to run the game flat-out at 60 frames per second. And it is, to put it frankly, epic. So how does the new patch compare to the game running on legacy PlayStation systems... and what about the gold master 1.0 disc code which *already* unlocked the frame-rate? Rich investigates.

We've got it out: PS5's M.2 slot to add storage capacity is expected to be available in the summer. The reason for not being able to use it now is the heat generated when using M.2 SSDs, and the cooling fan capacity boost will be done around the same time the slot ban is lifted. A number of sources who have been briefed by Sony on such plans have revealed that the M.2 SSD will be available in the summer.
WTF Sony. I hope this doesn't lead to PS4 levels of noise. My PS5 is super quiet and I'd like to keep it that way.

Strange thing to do giving away Horizon for free on PS4/PS5 when they're also trying to sell the game at full price on PC. It seems Microsoft has put Earthworm Jim Ryan in panic mode lol. Ever since he took charge of PlayStation, the company has had a reactionary stance to everything Microsoft does rather continuing with the vision that made it a huge success. In other words, PlayStation lacks vision under Earthworm Jim.

Under his leadership:

- Japan Studios was shut down, and Japan as a whole got neglected (the X/O button situation shows how little SIE cares about the Japanese market)
- Shu Yoshida was demoted from head of WW studios to head to Indies
- First-party PlayStation exclusives started appearing on PC

Here's hoping he's replaced by the rightful president of SIE, Shu Yoshida.

I dont know much about Jim Ryan but its pretty apparent that Sony is slowly losing it to MS especially with the start of this gen. There have been a few signs here and there but showing the boot to their hardcore JAP base was a definite sign of a forthcoming decline, the same way they had in the early ps3 days of sony arrogance on which MS really capitalized.

Solution: play on an HDR supported display. Necrokiller has already established that it's the true next-gen feature.

Meanwhile,

Elevated blacks in the Series X version in HDR, causing the picture to look washed out in comparison to the PS5 version.

Yikes!
