Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

Visually the PS5 and SX are identical.
Series X has better performance in 60 FPS RT mode.
PS5 has better performance in 120 FPS non-RT mode.
Series S only has 60 FPS mode, no RT or 120hz mode.

PS5 Hacked To Run Original Metal Gear On Internal Web Browser

While the PlayStation 5 boasts a huge catalog of brand new upcoming titles, one player has found a way to access the decades-old classic Metal Gear.

A PlayStation homebrew developer has managed to run the original Metal Gear through an internal web browser on the PlayStation 5. Metal Gear, the first in the long-running series directed by Hideo Kojima, was released on the MSX2 computer console back in 1987. The game spawned a series of sequels, with the series culminating in the release of 2015's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

With Sony's PlayStation 5 being available to the public for nearly two weeks for some players, it should be expected that customizations will begin to crop up. Many gamers have begun to apply custom paint jobs to their consoles, giving the stark white design a beautiful splash of unique color. Popular PlayStation titles, such as Marvel's Spider-Man, have been payed homage through custom paintjobs. One particularly impressive customization came in the form of a Mass Effect-inspired design, adorning the PS5 with the colors and insignia of the sci-fi saga's N7 operatives.

Other players are tinkering with the PS5 hardware itself instead of its case. Twitter user psxdev has managed to get the original Metal Gear to run on a PlayStation 5, using an online MSX2 emulator. WebMSX was made to run on the new console thanks to an internal web browser that is not ordinarily accessible, but can be used through a back door. The emulator is available on most common web browsers, making it simple to access through the PS5.

The presence of a hidden web browser on the PlayStation 5 was reported shortly after the console's release, and it is apparently still accessible. There exists an option to link the PS5 to other online services, such as Twitter, and choosing this option begins connecting the user to Twitter. However, canceling the log-in will allow free access to the entire internet, allowing access to unintended services such as WebMSX. This discovery came shortly after Sony reported that the console would not be sporting a web browser, despite the fact that the PS3 and PS4 both included one.

With the recent launch of a new generation of consoles, it should be expected that gamers will begin exploring the new hardware and software at their fingertips. It is always cool to see technology used for unintended purposes, and one never needs and excuse to play some Metal Gear. As more and more people get their hands on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, it seems likely that more and more exploits will be discovered.

Apparently those drops are a bug and not a hardware limitation. Memory leakage perhaps? Idk.

And Xbox version is missing a lot of details apparently

"I applaud what they did with the controller, not actually for--well, I shouldn't say not for the specifics of the controller, but more than just the specifics of the controller," Spencer told The Verge. "I think for all of us in the industry, we should learn from each other and the innovation that we all push on, whether it's distribution of business model like Game Pass, or controller tech, or the Wii back in the day, which clearly had an impact on us when we went off and did Kinect and Sony did the Move."
Good guy Phil also likes the DualSense. :p

It is the single most impressive thing about next-gen so far. I can imagine they're also figuring out how to do something like that for a mid-gen refresh or their next version of the overpriced Elite controller.
bhai credit due where credit given, chalo shabash credit dou to xbox for supporting the latest controller with xbox one as well unlike sony

Good guy Phil has a great approach towards next gen. He also hinted at something Sony can take notes on from them, and Jimbo is already on track (back track lol) to copy Game Pass.

With that said, as someone who hates aiming/shooting with the analog stick, the Dual Sense does nothing to change that. Some gimmicky trigger feedback isn't going to fundamentally change how I play such games where analog stick fails. Sony could also learn a thing or two from Valve and provide a system wide API for controls customisation so at the very least the gyro is a viable alternative instead of a largely useless feature on PS4/DS4. Lack of paddles further make it useless for many genres. Good for people used to analog sticks in all genres tho. Not like they have alot of choice on some platforms :p

Good guy Sony, creates revolutionary next gen controller with feature support for both console and PC hardware and doesn't overprice them like other 'elite' controllers.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.

After I watched it, I never felt like i watched a show. It was a friggin journey. I got way too attached to Thorfinn and seeing him grow up and find himself and get rid of all the negativity inside of him was just pure bliss.

With how great cod warzone has translated onto mobile. Mainstream Consoles have lost its value even further. Maybe console gaming was associated with TVs and how TV is not the primary source of media consumption anymore, consoles will lose its 200 million core audiences even further.
