Ok so here is the situation. I was looking to buy a new 360 controller and found the lowest price online at Daraz for just 2500. However I also found a 360 controller for 2500 at Homeshopping but they clearly have it listed as a "copy". So this made me suspicious as the lowest price I could find other than Daraz was 3500 but Daraz maintained that it's an "original" product. And it was cash on delivery so I said why not check them out as I do have an original controller for comparison.

So apparently when you opt for cash on delivery you cannot actually open the product before paying. Had I known this I would have refused the deal but I wasn't told that and I opened it. Now before I can even get into comparing it to my original controller I see that there are no AA batteries in it. Now as far as I know Microsoft does not sell any controllers without batteries and a quick Google did not reveal anything to suggest otherwise. It also CLEARLY says at the back of the "sealed" box that the package contains 2 batteries. Knowing how awful Daraz refund system is I simply asked the rider to take it back but he insisted that I HAVE to pay.

Now I called Daraz customer service. The person says that the product page on their website does not state that the batteries come with the controller so there is no liability on them to provide them. So I was like do you also sell mobile phones without battery if the product description doesn't say that the product comes with a battery? lol

Anyways I said that the batteries are the least of my concern here but how does a sealed product not have battery if it's neither fake nor second hand? So eventually I offered that if I am wrong I'll pay 3000 for this product but there is no way I am paying right now as it is not my fault that the rider did not inform me that I have to pay if I open it. Now the Daraz guy says that if I don't pay then they will launch a "complain" against me to which I said sure go ahead. Now some senior guy talks to me and eventually agrees to just take it back right then and there.

I could not figure out if the product was actually fake or not as the rider was already too agitated by all this so I just let it go and never ever am I going for this stupid cash on delivery system. This is NOT how it works with Homeshopping where they actually let you check the product at least the last time I ordered from them.

Anyways so long story short is my understanding that every genuine controller comes with batteries correct?

Yes. It does come with batteries when MS sells it.

Source: I've bought at least 3 xbox 360 wireless controllers in the past 6 years.
