GSC studio has been officially shutdown, and all work on Stalker 2 has been halted. R.I.P S.T.A.L.K.E.R., you shall be dearly missed :'(

i was waiting for some good new about S.T.A.L.K.E.R...
and here i got the worst new i never wanted...
i hope it makes it caz it was one of my most favorite games...

BTW...stalker 1 was the most cancelled game ever i think...

The entire team that was working on STALKER 2 has now formed a new studio named "Vostok". They're working on a F2P MMO named "Survarium", which they believe is the next evolution of Stalker. They were denied the rights to the name "STALKER", hence they were forced to abandon it and move on. This is one of my most cherished fps games on PC of all times. I can't remember how many times I've replayed all the games. It sure is a sad day indeed. I'm now more than ever looking forward to Metro: Last Light. Lets hope they don't bite the bust like GSC did.

Poor Stalker fans were given a ray of hope after the GSC tweet, but it turns out that was just BS.

The games were not everyone's cup of tea. They had atmosphere, depth and gameplay no other fps offered at their time. For an SP oriented fps, they were in a class of their own.

Though the storytelling was a bit lackluster in comparison, the new fallout games owe a lot to this series. The amazing atmosphere these games managed to create is unmatched to this day.

A well-above average series, something that anyone that has played the games will attest to. Sad day indeed.

TBH never liked stalker game

the controls were a bit sluggish and overall gameplay felt dull to me

lets see what they are upto with that MMO game
