So as most would already know RTX 3080 official release date is 17 September and supply is rumored to be extremely limited.
Now going on trends from previous releases when would you think we would start seeing the gpu's in local markets?

Supply will come in December or January. Nvidia will be giving cards in very limited quantity in first two months. After January, You can see GPUs in Local Market.

From what I have been told by distributors the Zotac Trinity 3080 is going to be available by the end of September or start of October (depending on custom clearance) no word on pricing yet unfortunately.

I also contacted MSI Pakistan they also have a shipment in bound at the end of the month but does not have any Series 3000 cards listed in the manifest sadly, They did tell me that could change since they haven't received their allotment of cards yet. So expect the MSI cards later on in October or maybe even November.

ASUS Pakistan have no confirmation on cards, they have the usual shipment of boards, monitors and the like.

With supply rumored to be very restricted its going to be hard to get one on the initial shipment, but im hoping to get my pre-order in for the 3090 if possible.

I am not a fan of Zotac honestly. I had Zotac 1080 Ti AMP Extreme and after about 2.5 years it started acting up and eventually gave up. I bought 2070 super then (because i knew about ampere) zotac again because that's what was available only in market although not AMP Extreme this time.
From my experience zotac seems to push their cards too hard, my 1080 Ti never crossed into 80c territory and was always used with great air-flow casing and AC room.
I will be avoiding Zotac like a plague this time and will rather wait for MSI/Asus. Oh well, it will turn up for the better because by then we will have RDNA 2 announcing (scheduled for 28 october) so will have better understanding of where things are going and if nvidia intend to launch 20gb version. Although i definitely have no hope for AMD in gpu section anymore.

What is your experience with zotac cards?

EDIT: Who is the distributor for MSI? I know its shingtech for Asus and pakdukaan for zotac.

My Zotac 970 died after three years of extremely heavy use (like 12 hrs gaming every day). I felt like it performed amazingly during its time because I also overclocked it heavily during its last year of use. I went for Gigabyte 1060 after that (had to get a midranger due to my relatively weak processor).

It is still performing amazingly. It has two fans but doesn't go above 44 on idle, and 60~65 on load (changed the thermal paste once with a good quality one).

That's unfortunate, I however have had no issues with Zotac they make good quality cards and 2 year local warranty is always a plus and since in Pakistan you buy what you can find its not like we are spoiled for choice.

That being said I opted for the Aorus 2080ti which was the worst card I have even owned horrible temps 86C on full tilt got rid of it a couple of months ago, wont be buying a gigabyte anytime soon.

My preference is MSI this gen the 3090 ventus 3x looks great love the stealthy look or the 3090 Gaming trio if its not massively over priced, but as of right now the only confirmed card is the Zotac Trinity 3080.

MSI are Astrontech, Asus are handled by Easetec and zotac pakdukaan.

Shingtech lost the Asus distribution AFAIK but they are the official resellers for Intel in Pakistan

Good info there, thanks. Didn't know shingtech is no longer Asus distributor. No wonder, its too hard to grab hold of Asus cards these days in Pakistan. I don't think easetec is importing nearly enough we have back in the days.

Anyway, now you mention Gigabyte yeah they are also top on my shitlist, even higher then Zotac. Before my Zotac 1080 Ti i had a gigabyte 1080 windforce and it was loudy as hell and still ran hot. I think there was a lot of dirt on gigabyte that pipes didn't contact gpu correctly or something which i no longer remember. Then couple years back i bought a gigabyte board for 8700k from Galaxy (sealed) and when i came home and opened it, it had bent pins, i tried returning it and Galaxy refused stating it was me who bent them even though i clearly took pictures of the board BEFORE trying to install processor and heat sink. Anyway, that's a different story, never bought anything from galaxy again. It ran fine after i used a blade to straighten the pins which i eventually replaced for Ryzen 3900X last year.

Worst thing about Gigabyte is that their products cost almost as much as Asus/MSI while no-way near their build quality and design. Zotac is atleast much cheaper then both.

Great info anyone have any more updates on this?

As a side note ... there are a lot of confirmed reports that people now need to underclock and undervolt their 3080s to about 95% so that the card doesn't crash the game and jump to the desktop, by people I mean those who were able to buy the rtx3080s on launch ... apparently a flaw in the hardware.... Non-FE cards are all experiencing the same issue and board partners have officially recognized this as well and have come out with their owns statements regarding this issue. Apart from MSI refused to acknowledge the issue and said that it was probably a driver issue.

Thats mostly Zotac Trinity and Gigabyte who uses all 6 POSCAP cheaper capacitors. The ones which use atleast 2 MLCC capacitors (which is NVIDIA founders edition and base spec) don't have that issue. Asus TUF uses all 6 MLCC.

Read my comments above, i wrote exactly my problems with Zotac and Gigabyte before and this goes to prove they are used to employ crappy and cheaper equipment in their cards.
Never again a ZOTAC in my life.

Hmm perhaps in this case , you may be right ... but i'm sure they won't just let a product die or be faulty because they probably spent millions on getting it to the consumer ... That would really hurt them. Best guess, they're going to mod the bios by updating drivers , which is fine for me , considering that it's a small loss in fps but the card becomes more stable. Either way , now that i know about the POSCAPS i might avoid zotac altogether unless i have no other choice.

Thing with Zotac as that its inferior in every way. Look at any tech youtubers videos. Paul from paulshardware compared Zotac Trinity, Gigabyte, Asus TUF & Nvidia reference 3080s and zotac was the worst in every scenario.
When i say every scenario i mean in every test, That's thermal test, average and max clocks and build quality.
All GPU's were tested at 100% fan speed under max load and zotac was the hotest AIB model while 4% slower then Asus TUF and 2% slower then Gigabyte. Asus TUF was coolest at default settings but strangely Gigabyte was coolest at 100% fan speed.
And i am not even talking about 1-2 degree C difference. Zotac was 11C hotter then Gigabyte model with both at 100% fan load.
Now here's the icing on the cake, zotac was also LOUDEST at max fan curve so clearly zotac has crapped out on components and power delivery. Its not about capacitor thing. Zotac was also about 70 MHz lower ON AVERAGE then other 3 cards and was extremely unstable above 1990 MHz while ASUS TUF could easily maintain 2040 MHz for longer periods of time because it has higher power limit. Zotac only goes to +5%.

This just proves that zotac is used to employ crappy components. I have been using graphics cards for around 20 years and the only graphics cards that went bad on me within first couple years was Pixelview 6600GT back in 2006 and Zotac 1080 Ti AMP Extreme. Both third grade brands.

No one in their right mind would prefer zotac trinity over Asus TUF because they have SAME MSRP. I would have had no issue with zotac if it was $50 cheaper but its not. We only buy Zotac because beggers can't be choosers. We have to buy what we can find in Pakistan. Still i will go on integrated graphics for months rather then put a zotac in my PC.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
