Ptcl high latency issues on middle eastern servers

I used to get 50-60 ping on middle eastern servers on fortnite, now I get around 180 on fortnite and 200-230 on Cod MW. I can't see the ping in FIFA but the lag and input delay is horrific in it too. The latency bars have gone from 4 to 3 or 2. The ping on European servers has also increased slightly (+20-40ms). This happened randomly about 2 weeks ago. I have a 15MB VDSL connection, city Islamabad. If anyone knows the fix to this then please help because as of right now I can't play any game properly. I'm not bothering to complain to PTCL because last year I faced a same kind of issue when they changed their routing and messed up the pings to almost every game, and I kept on complaining which led to my internet being cut off. I had to go to their office to get it back on so I don't want that to happen again.

PTCL currently has the worst possible routing to all AWS servers - Europe, Middle East and Singapore.

I can't play COD MW with friends because they get 200 ms ping to every lobby, regardless of which region it is.

I recently switched to StormFiber due to the same issue and even though they use PIE routes, I still get pretty good ping times. To EU it is around 130-160ms, Asia is 90-100ms and Middle Eastern server pings are less than 60ms. On PTCL it was 200+ ms on all regions. Also Twitch streams run smooth in full HD while my 25mbps PTCL struggled to run streams at 360p so thats a plus for me.

There is no easy solution to this.

Last year I was facing the same issue and it was fixed by a guy on this website, his name was usmanghazanfar. He wasked me to share my trace routes and give him the server IPs and my IP pool and he got it fixed within 2 days or so. Unfortunately he hasn't been on here since Feb I think.

The only solution is purchasing a VPN. Back when I was stuck with PTCL I purchased a WTFast subscription and it actually works. My ping went down from 200ms + to constant 100-110ms on Asian servers. Even EU was pretty good at around 140-160ms. If you are on a console you will need a pc to connect the console to it in order to setup the VPN on your console. I don't know the procedure but google and a few youtube videos can help you on this.

Might be .but games like modern warfare and Apex legends ban u in an instant with the use of wtfast.

I don't know how they detect that you are behind a VPN because WTFast doesn't change your IP it only optimizes your ISP routing. That is why its also called GPN (Gamers Private Network).

Same was getting 60, then suddenly started getting 180 to middle east after i restarted my router even though i was in same ip pool(39.32.xx.xx). Now today i restarted my router again and my ping is back to normal even though im still in the same ip pool(39.32).

I'm also in the same ip pool as you, this restart fix worked for me last year when I used to restart at certains times of the day and then I would get good ping but God forbid if we have a power cut or someone accidentally unplugs the router at a time where the pings were high, then I'd have to wait until the next day for the pings to get lowered again. I spent majority of time restarting my router, I used to do it hundreds of times (not exaggerating). It's impractical af to be restarting the router in the hopes of getting better routing, my family hated me for it because I did it repeatedly. It's actually laughable how this organization is literally robbing us and there's nothing we can do about it because they're not arsed about it at all. We aren't getting the full services that we are paying for. An employee from ptcl literally told me that agar aap ne online gaming karni hai to ptcl ka internet katwa dein, hum online gaming support nahi kartay. What a mug!

A good VPN is the only solution. I would recommend trying out WTFast as they provide a 3 day trial so you can test out their service before subscribing to it.

You can also try Killping, its not as good as WTFast but you can get unlimited 3 day trials by using temporary email accounts.

It's not a viable option for me as I'm on console. I've checked the method of getting VPN on console and it's through sharing internet from your computer to your PS4 through wifi hotspot. Whatever I'll make up for in ping, I'll lose by playing on wifi rather than LAN.

There's no real solution other than switching ISPs.

Most of my friends play on PTCL, and whenever I play Modern Warfare or any other game that uses ME servers, they get insanely high pings whereas I get around 55 ms in game.

The trick to keep restarting till you get an IP from another pool doesn't work because routing is messed up for all IPs.

The one time we had a PTCL employee (or he was just really close friends with an employee), people scared him away and bombarded him with PMs to try and fix routing. He hasn't been on PG in months.

I guess i just got really lucky? Also my package changed and my router restartrd again and im still getting good ping. Tis is over wifi so pings are 20ms way lower in game.

Tbh that isn't that great, I used to get 50-60 on Middle East aand 140-160 on Europe before they messed it up.
