Passport Renewal Process

Salam

Can someone kindly guide the process for passport renewal? Originally made from Sadar branch, Karachi. Checked online and found that it can be renewed online now..but don't trust the process.

Where to go and get it renewed as I need to travel in 2 weeks.

If you need it at short notice, don't trust their crappy online service.

Go back to the same office you made it from initially and get the urgent service, you'll get it within a week.

Take your most recent passport with yourself and just go and ask for renewal.

Nope, because it's a renewal and not a first time thing, there's not much to be done. Take old passport, ID, get a new photo taken, confirm your data like parents name, current address etc. Sign the form, get it stamped, submit it with payment for urgent service.

You'll get a text message when it's ready, or just go back there after 7 working days and it'll probably be available.

Haven't used this one personally, but most Pak Govt online services are buggy and poorly developed, and the payment thing fails most of the time, at least with local SCB cards, and considering OP needs his passport in less than 14 days, I wouldn't risk using their online portal, and would rather get it made from the passport office.
I've also heard horror stories from TCS riders about passport delivery and how if anything goes wrong, then neither TCS nor Govt wants to take responsibility for it.

Just my two cents, i applied for my NICOP online on NADRA's website. The process took quite a while but not because of buggy nature, but because of extensive amount of detail i had to provide. Understandable, given the nature of the item concerned, but still ... online process was pretty easy to navigate and understand. Made my payment online and got my ID in Dubai/UAE within a month (normal process, didn't use urgent process).

So i would say, go for Online renewal. You have no idea about the Khuwari you have to go through if you go there personally. Sitting at home, eating crisps, and smashing that keyboard is a lot better lol :laugh1:

just went to passport office @ sadar today and they told me to go to awami markaz and blah blah but got it sorted out after talking to blah blah....so it was pretty smooth though not as my initial experience when I went with someone but overall it was ok and not a horrible experience !

May i know what reason they told u to process ur passport from Awami Markaz ? Is ur address from district east ? it is good to hear that it has sorted out amicably

never forget to bring parents and husband/wife (if married) CNIC whether process for CNIC or for PASSPORT because NADRA/PASSPORT staff always need to check family linkage/particulars (if any malpractices through applicants/agents) that's y applicants may be asked to provide parents CNIC anytime even MNIC (old manual NIC).

i would recommend all (specially Karachi/Quetta) to process CNIC through NADRA nearest centre bcoz once it gets rejected through online then u'll get to know the real/unforgettable "khuwaari" in ur entire life.. but ya it is gud for those who are abroad and dont have time to go for process of CNIC at all.
choice is all of urs. it is just a single piece of advice.
