I don't get the fuss over this. Some PS fans seem to be sad about losing exclusivity; some (including myself) are happy that more people will get to experience HZD. Some PC fans seem to be happy while others sound indifferent. In any case, PS fans aren't losing anything and PC gamers are gaining something. I get the concern about losing other PS exclusives but that's not the case for now and there's a difference between HZD and other PS exclusives. HZD's Decima engine has already been used by third party developers, including Supermassive Games and Kojima Productions. So it's not that surprising that HZD is coming on PC but I don't see a parallel with other PS exclusives.

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon but if it does, I'm just uncertain as to how it's going to work considering exclusives are a defining feature of PlayStation. So while I wouldn't mind other exclusives going multiplatform, I wouldn't, in that case, see a reason to own a PlayStation anymore - which makes me think why Sony would do that to itself.

That those first party games are available elsewhere as well and so my platform options are now open unlike before. Might as well just get a PC for broader gaming and non-gaming purposes.

Yes, that data was based on the biggest market i.e. US, where Horizon ZD outsold UC4.

Again, you're kinda wrong, in terms of PS's biggest market at least. The US is 'biggest', sure, but PS is equally huge in Europe.

As of 2018, the PS4 had sold upward of 35m in Europe. Adding in approximate 2019 figures, it's safe to assume 1/3rd (or even more) of the PS4's 100m sales are from Europe.

Also, Switch (including Lite) also sold more in NA than Europe.

You know I would have personally preferred if they ported Until Dawn, that game never got a Pro patch and performance is very uneven.

Also, HZD is a pretty big fucking deal. The success of that new IP and Sony's confidence in Guerilla led the guy incharge of that studio to be promoted to head of PlayStation. If that doesn't say success, I don't know what does.

Oh, HZD is a big deal as an exclusive - no doubt about that. I just meant that a Decima game going multiplat, especially after Death Stranding, is not as surprising as, say, Uncharted, God of War, or Spider-Man would've been had one of them were to go multiplat. That's where I don't see a parallel between HZD and other major PS exclusives. And it's not like Guerilla is giving away everything. Killzone is still an exclusive (although it's not that big of a deal when compared to HZD). Also, HZD sequel, if and when it happens, is most likely to be a PS exclusive, at least initially. So, HZD PC version seems like an experiment at this stage. I agree that Until Dawn needs more love than HZD, and that it would've been a better choice for a PC port if we are considering Decima, but then it probably wouldn't have been such a big deal as HZD. I'm not gonna bet on anything though. Who knows if exclusivity will be a thing in the future.
