130ms on euw :/..how's that possible? are dota server's somewhere 'closer to pakistan' on eu or is that ping because of an internet connection other than ptcl?

130-140ms (europe west) for people in Karachi with optimised connections, don't ask for details :crazy:


As for why low pings, well I had gotten volvo and PTCL to set up direct peering with each other (back in 2013, i think O_O ) so they established peering sessions and now PTCL has optimised connections to DOTA2 EUW and SEA servers.

no xp if I'm in low priority? what does that mean

If you leave match or get Disconnected during a match and dont reconnect(due to load shedding or PTCL C**tspa) then you will face penalty of 5 games to play in Low priority without any xp and item drop chance...

Its not that bad unless you get irregular loadshedding, internet dies randomly, you rage quit a lot, flame a lot, feed a lot, again rage a lot, more flaming, more raging ... ... ...

Post traceroutes.

Step 1:
Open CMD (Command Prompt) / Network Utility / Terminal

→ Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open RUN Window

→ Type in "CMD" and press OK

Step 2:
Tracerouting

Once you have opened up CMD type in "tracert 103.28.54.1" (without quotes)


Post the screenshot here once the traceroute finishes (can take from 15 - 30sec).

planning on trying dota 2 primarily because I have played and a fan of Dota 1, LoL and Hots..

Anyway's want to get some info before jumping into the bottomless pit of dota again.

• Which server's do you guys play on,
• what ping's do you get (ptcl) (not counting the bad pings after submarine issue),
• can you shift servers without losing progress,
• How's the pakistani playerbase
• how's the basic progress system of the game

• I usually play on South East Asian servers.
• Usually get 130-140 on SEA servers.
• Yep. You can choose any server you want. Won't effect your progress.
• Pretty decent now. And is getting bigger and bigger.
• Well, in Dota 2, you don't really care about the progress system unless you are a level Abuses will lead to ban. Because at the end of the day, it's how you play that counts, whether you're level 20 or you're level 200. The level doesn't give you any bonuses or special perks etc.
  One point to note is that you won't be able to play Ranked Matches till you reach level 13.

Well, you don't get to choose servers in Custom games. I guess the hosting areas of games I played made the ping lame.

So, how is everyone liking the move to Reborn?

Nice GUI aside, Custom games are a godsend. Since they have improved it from the Beta days, It's just really fun playing different custom gamers with your Dota bros. Overthrow is the best when all of you are on Skype. Everyone's just screaming and cursing each other when you tag team against someone etc. So fun.

How do i get less ping for EU?

im from england but i just came to pakistan to study for a few years and im struggling to reach 5k because im not used to SEA and i dont really like that server because they flame alot feed etc

I used to get 200ms in eu server but then it shot up to 500ms for some reason, so is there anyway to get like very good ping in eu servers

get rekt basically. you can try changing your ISP. like i get around 140ms on eu.

I live in kharian cantt, but idk what u mean to change ur isp. theres some of these cloud things which give u 6mb but idk
