New PTCL Packages (free upgrades)

They are also feeding me the same bull crap for 1 week. Maybe its because I am on VDSL.. it takes them weeks to change package on normal days while on ADSL my package would upgrade/downgrade in seconds. Funny thing is that for weeks they are calling it "technical error"every time I call them and the call gets dropped mysteriously when I start asking them questions. I am currently on 8MBps for 4k+. Maybe they don't want me to get better speeds since I am already paying them the same price lol.

I don't know why they are doing this to me then. Had another talk with the livechat and now they said they can't upgrade my 8MB to 20MB due to a 'systematical error'. Said I should follow-up after 48 hours.

Talked to ptcl representative he told me for 20MB bill will be 4K including taxes which were around 800 and for 10Mb bill will be around 2800 got my 4MB connection upgraded to 10MB and it took roughly 5 minutes and my connection upgraded

Bro I think it is because u asked for the package which has call minutes like unlimited ptcl calls + minutes to other networks. What I asked was a basic package just with dsl

Again reconfirmed yup u r right bill will be 3500. The guy at the time of upgrade told me 2800 with taxes and now they're telling 3500 with taxes for 10Mbps

i was using 8mb ptcl and upgraded to 10mb recently. my old bill used to be ~4100 with all taxes, now it is ~3400. feels good to get more speed and stability for cheaper price haha.

also, i upgraded my copper wire to fiber optic myself 4-5 years ago, it was a high quality australian fiber topic costing ~5000. can i upgrade to a faster connection? does it matter if i have dsl, vdsl2 or gpon? i live in clifton karachi...

Were/are you on VDSL? I have been requesting/begging them to upgrade mine too from 8mb to 10mb but the "technical error" is very severe and can't get resolved even after 2 weeks lol

Just got mine upgraded to 20mb from 8mb after seeing this thread. Took 5 min. My SNR has gone down to shit but the 2mb download speed is so satisfying. I might downgrade to 10mb if there are too many disconnections.

They should not upgrade if snr go much below as they should know what minimum SNR should be maintained to have stable connection.

Yes on copper. I had 26 SNR before the upgrade and now it is around 5. I get disconnections when I'm downloading at about 2.1mb/s. Normally it's not that bad.

i think i was on adsl or adsl 2 because that was what the router said. ptcl changed my router when upgrading connection so now i have the vdsl2 router. i dont mind paying ~620 rs extra and doubling my speed to 20mb but i dont wanna mess anything up seeing as my 10mb connections always give full speed with zero disconnects since Jan 2018.

your line can easily support 20mb.

Actually your line can even support 100 mb. Up to 20MB absolutely no problem at all. For 50 and 100 MB packs, they will upgrade your card from the cabinet; and possibly install another high speed pure copper wire for you too.

Don't worry about line stats. It's their effing headache, not yours.
