He's back!

Artist: Cloudkicker
Album: Fade
Genre: Post-Rock / Progressive
Release: 2012
Country: USA

Tracklist:

1. From the Balcony
2. The Focus
3. Seattle
4. Garage Show
5. LA After Rain
6. Making Will Mad
7. Our Crazy Night

Comments: Ben Sharp a.k.a Cloudkicker makes you want to believe in good music. But his is better than good.

He's a normal guy with a normal job, but with a hobby of writing and recording fantastic music. And then releasing it for free. No labels, no promotions and no additional musicians. It's been 5 years listening to Cloudkicker, and let me just say that I have mad respect for Mr. Ben Sharp. But more than that, he's a solid inspiration to me.

Now apparently Fade just got released. And I'll do quick rundown of my thoughts. First and foremost, this is like a combination of all his previous efforts (Let Yourself Be Huge , Beacons and ]]][[[). It plays out very very good. There are groovy signatures everywhere and his drumming is at its best. Production seems a bit more traditional which is fine by me. His approach is very transparent. Right away, there's a smooth dynamic feel to it. Like preparing fireworks. Biggest change is his bass parts. They're effing amazing. Sets up a rich atmosphere. Except for Our Crazy Night, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. And like an overjoyed fanboy I keep going back to it. So in the end Cloudkicker maintains his creative consistency very well and Fade winds up as an another memorable release to his exalting discography.

EP: Leaving
Band: Pet Shop Boys
Genre: Electropop / Synthpop / Europop
Year: 2012
Country: UK

1. Leaving (Album Version)
2. Hell
3. In His Imagination
4. Baby

In His Imagination or in lively perception the cooleset B-side song by the mature pets. Elysium album is rolling and soaring out wonderful tunes from 'Leaving track to Requiem In Denim And Leopardskin' and perfectionists are dying to keep their fans on feet for months as they have the tendency to do whenever they launch new record.

For any pet heads this is something special with new and old (politically aspired ) B-side tracks that were not released previously likes of 'Hell & Baby'.

Beautiful ballad 'In His Imagination' with lyrics that defines stories of those who are willing to go abroad or in quest to leave and work hard in foreign country.

Sum:
Don't leave ... have some snippets of the pro.guys best EP and album to date

Single: Back In My Life
Band: Fly Project
Genre: House / Romanian Pop-trance
Year: 2012
Country: Romania

Mandala team'd up for pure trance-atlantic journey. Their last two or so songs were just average but this one has original Romanian flavor. slick beats and easy come vocals.

Will be a major HIT, particularly in middle east and Asia for sure.

After couple of busy weeks at last I was able to finish an album :). And it was from 3DG..

3DG is back with their forth studio album and it is a must listen record. It wasn’t their best of albums but far better than other alt bands out in the market. As usually their unique guitar sound was present and Adam Gontier’s high caliber vocals. It seems nothing has changed since their first self-title album.

Again the album also have electronic element. Which most of the bands are experimenting nowadays and poorly fails to impress listeners. But considering 3DG, they did a great sync with their drums and guitar and I’ll somewhat give them some credit for it.

Chalk Outline, the High Road, Misery Loves my company and Expectations were few of my favs from the album.

Satisfactory or will say mediocre below 3 out of 5 rating for 3DG album. never heard any of the track on radio or even on websites that gained some popularity. Will say a bland piece of work by Canadian Rock quartet. should've loved more to talk on some outstanding track but unfortunately there's none. I'm trying to buff my ears to the entire album but can't feel the Oomph! the magic that these guys have produced in the past, something that i can cheer about.

^Yup. As I said not one of their best effort..But with no Breaking Benjamin, Tools, Evanescence this year I was quite happy to listen them.

BTW I've started Motionless In White's Infamous. Mind blowing album. Still have to finish couple of tracks but starting tracks Black Damask and Sinematic are couple of outstanding tracks.

Band:
Riverside
Album:
Shrine of New Generation Slaves
Genre:
Prog.Rock / Prog.Metal
Year:
2013
Country:

Poland

New Year's Gift couldn't have come better than this an attack from the Polish Progressive Rockers. Their fifth studio album that's rocking in my car stereo after Deftones CD had some heating to do for several weeks. From Progressive metal to Alternative metal and back to Progressive thing, something complacent and jovial for me to recap over and over again. Listening to progressive sound of Mariusz a unique tranquilizer left me speechless the day he launched 'Out of My Self'.

Their 5th studio album has a strong element of Polish Progressive music. 'Celebrity Touch' a pseudo-lullaby an ode journey to 70's era. Those bass line and enchanted echoes right at the end is a masterclass. Guitar riffs powerful as ever. Melodic guitar passages connected with the hard drums, nerve muffled bass and dynamic electronic samples entirely be heard on deluxe edition. Night sessions are tremendously aspiring.

'We Got Used To Us' brilliantly executed .... song of the year till something out of the blue erupts but till this date the particular track has taken my soul for a numb soak. i felt like i was journeying through mainland islet and with no living force to be found except me.

One thing should be noted that the team is trying to squeeze out all the creative juices, the full potential that eventually results in 8 + 2 deluxe songs on the album. The success of this approach - variable. Somewhere group has mild progressive rock, somewhere comes to obscure metal ballads, however, not even that, they sound more like something in between but the end result is far comparison to their old gems.

This release has all the Oomph! and to me this is the best progressive rock/metal album i've listened. Will not compare them to any of their counterparts but let them be seen as a pro than a neophyte.

Track to give a repeat approach: Feel Like Falling

sum: An album turned stout with its own characteristics and that's only strength

Review Time!

Pop brought back with Soul

Oh what has Jessica Biel done to this guy? This album is a complete mess of love making tunes; all wrapped up in stellar production. It’s a statement that looks up to the class and revisits Pop in a new approach.
The 20/20 Experience has defied the rules of the industry and gone out in a complete showoff of bold lengths. I can’t really help it, but this is one album that will get a track-by-track review from me. Timeless stuff honestly.

Pusher Love Girl

Leave it to JT and his band to open with a combination of blues and gospel. Pusher Love Girl is all about addictions in a state of soul and charisma. There couldn’t be a better opener than this track. The second half trails Timbaland with a lot of noise and gets the experience started in style.

Suit & Tie

The leading single sets the spotlight right onto the new love for sugar funk and retro pop. It’s lively and has all the ingredients for a ball. However, the dance track does suffer from a terrible feature of Jay Z. His part just ruins all the disco fun in the track. Moreover, his abysmal rapping is at its worst unfortunately. Still, this is far from a letdown. It ain’t no revolutionary Sexy Back, but this is still something to enjoy and have a great time to. And that’s what JT’s after all.

Don’t Hold The Wall

Que the luscious indian sample and let in a cocky JT. The duo of Timberlake and Timbaland really shines here the most. Just getting to the second half feels right at home for all the signature moves. Well How Do You Like it? You shouldn’t have to ask me that question. Let the fingers do the snapping and dance along.

Strawberry Bubblegum

No kidding, this is classic tier. With a Timbaland doing a Barry White narrative voice over, the mood is set for intimate romance. The song is filled with blips and bubble beats all over in the first half. Cliched lyrics as ever, but with a subtle appeal that’s hard to let go of. The verse and chorus go so well with each other that it’s impossible to get away from them. Moreover, the second half gets the band to take over. And they slide in so charmingly that JT just cruises along the groove. It was such a mellow mellow mellow mellow mellow day.

Tunnel Vision

Timbaland flexes out his muscles here. The production tops everything here. JT gets on his signature vocals and lets the sample totally empower over him. The melodies build up to confine the climax over and over. Indeed, a fine taste of melancholy spread over.

Spaceship Coupe

Oh sweet swinging melodies! JT flies away to the stars here. And generously enough, he presents a guitar solo topped off with a sample of weird moans. It’s quite a ride throughout. This is the one song where I imagine The Lonely Island singing the backing vocals. They fit so comically here. Really dig the whole alien vibe here; adds a comical relief.

That Girl

Absolute banger to jam. It’s the most live track of them all. JT featuring Tennessee Kids gets you in the whole Southern Swing scene. And like something out of the blues, the lyrics reek of old-fashioned love statements. JT’s over-confident confessional gleefully compliments with a lot of heart.

Let the Groove Get In

An admirable tribute to the salsa numbers in JT’s life. It’s JT out of the studio and onto the tango floor. Not a personal favourite, but entertaining nonetheless. Plus, a lot of MJ feels here.

Mirrors

This track is the epitome of the whole experience. It has all the influences from each of the songs. It has the mark of a Timabaland craft piece. Most importantly, it has JT at its most devoted and emotional moment. Going from the first to second half is simply incredible. What’s more astounding is the fact that the overused metaphors work like magic here. It’s something you cannot pinpoint, but JT’s delivery here leaves such a great feel after that you go beyond all the faults and just fall back in the song. Thank You Jessica!

Blue Ocean Floor

Hey hey! JT wants to prove that he’s open to all forms of risk. With the final track, he certainly gets out of his usual zone and steps up the engrossing experience. Brave and giving room to experimentation at the same time. A move worthy of commendable praise.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So honestly, I’m madly in love with the album. Maybe I’ve overpraised to an extent, but why force out faults when you get such a terrific experience? Few artists from the mainstream can do what JT has done. Putting right to financial perks this album has got, there is satisfaction done to the best.
