Very underrated band. I hope you guys will like it. Discovered this band live at an Opeth concert. Really caught my attention. These guys just stole the show (til Opeth arrived ofcourse). Actually met them at the concert too. Their new album is coming out next month. If anyones interested, this album is a good place to start.

They sound ALOT better live so I'm attaching a video I personally made at their concert. Do watch the second video...the solo is amazing. Joey Eppard (lead vocals) is one talented guy.

Enjoy!

The band are named after the Jane's Addiction song "Ocean Size". According to guitarist Gambler, the band's former bassist [Jon Ellis] came up with the name: "I think, at the time, he was thinking what we would sound like. Jane’s Nothing's Shocking album, which has the track "Ocean Size" on it, was definitely a big influence.

Artist/Band: Paradise Lost
Album: Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us
Genre: Gothic/Doom Metal
Year: 2009
Country: England
Track listing:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faith_Divides_Us_-_Death_Unites_Us#cite_note-0

The pioneers (alongwith Anathema, My Dying Bride) of what came to be known as Gothic/Doom metal just released their latest album this month. Like with many bands, I'd recommend the older stuff to everyone, but trend in the music scene has shown that recent albums are more accessible to a new crowd. With that said, the band hasn't forgotten its roots. Its a brilliant mixture of their epic past music and hints of where they're heading.

I think a better format for this thread would be to just write in standard font, size, colour, etc. It's much easier on the eyes. Also, take out the Youtube videos, they kind of ruin the entire flow.

Anyway...

Band: Panic at the Disco
Album: Pretty Odd
Genre: Sunshine Pop, Baroque Pop, Psychedelic Rock
Year: 2008
Country: America

Some people are going to throw stones at me for simply mentioning this band, but I couldn't care less about that. Despite what their name and image might imply, Pretty Odd is actually pretty awesome.

It sounds a bit like a 60's tribute band at times, but that's the whole point. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel, it's trying to bring the wheel back into circulation. And of course, that worked for me very well. I was introduced to some great, great music through Panic. Without this album, I probably would never have bothered to listen to The Beatles, something that I like to think, changed my entire perspective of music as whole. Basically, this was the first album that introduced to me to a lot of older music. Of course at that time I would dismiss Panic and say ''oh, they were trying to rip off the Beatles, they suck, haha'' etc, but now that I think about it, they were never trying to rip off anyone. They were just trying to introduce to the Beatles to Generation Y, much like Oasis did for Generation X.

Some people might not understand my undisputed love for Pretty Odd, and will continue to dismiss it as pretentious garbage, but to me, it's a great record that'll always have a special place in my heart.

4.5/5

I've heard a couple of songs which were played to death on the radio. If only they had sensible and short song titles I would've remembered the names. They're not terribly bad, but just not my cup of tea.

i know it's indeed a never ending story but for me i've'nt still flooded the whole thing as i've immense collection that i've to share here, its just a glance ... as more i've to wait for ppl to discuss the more days/month will pass by. there are unlimited artists/bands there that one needs to listen or one who's in need for a small show here to say something. i know mostly PG'ers are fan of Metal/Rock. may be im the only one contributing more from my music collection (i.e not limited to Metal/Rock but basically all genres) is that much, barely one has in their music library. every single day so much up dates that its hard to keep a track of the latest s**t.

don't get me wrong here as im also a metal/rock fan too :)....also the rating im giving is of my personal liking therefore ratings from other viewers may be different from my opinion. suggestions from u guys is in consideration and the most vital thing of being consistent with the fonts is affirmative from now on.youtube links are just for few bands/artists.... i felt it too that there isn't a need of every youtube link for posting, same thing applies for tracklistings (i.e. optional though).....anyways thanks all of u for being active.....though need more PG'ers to jump in.
