Ultimate gaming with BRAVIA TVs from Sony. True-to-life color and detail, fast response time and immersive sound to optimize your PlayStation experience.
BRAVIA XR automatically switches into Game mode to minimize input lag and make the action more responsive. When watching movies on PlayStation5® consoles, it switches back to Standard Mode to focus on picture processing for more expressive scenes.
Imagine still stanning for a TV that cannot even do 10-bit HDR at 4K120Hz, blurs the 4K120Hz image, and now with VRR, disable local dimming. What a disaster
Imagine thinking the XR models, which also use a MediaTek processing chip, don't have the same limitations w.r.t. VRR and 10-bit HDR @ 120Hz. Imagine thinking slight blur is more important than input lag to someone who plays online at 120Hz
Besides, it has not yet been confirmed whether local dimming is fully disabled in VRR mode (will need confirmation from HDTVTest or Rtings in this regard), nor is this the final VRR related update the TV will receive.
Update: In statements made to FlatpanelsHD Sony warns that the first VRR firmware is not final: "VRR has not been officially released for BRAVIA TVs. You can choose the VRR mode in the TV menu, but you may experience bugs. For the smoothest experience, we recommend waiting until VRR is officially released on BRAVIA TVs later this year," said Sony. The first update will be pushed out between October 6 and 13, and the second update for VRR will arrive later this year.
At what point did I even suggest a Sony TV? Let alone XR models
Most games already aren't running at native 4K on the PS5, the added blur from the 120Hz signal is only gonna make the picture quality worse. Not to mention, this TV is also some people's primary display for a Switch (yikesss!)
The added blur due to 120Hz is barely noticeable as compared to the blur resulting from a non-native 4k game. A bright display that resolves HDR highlights well at 120Hz with low input lag and no image retention is a fine choice for those who often play online
That said, there are better options available in Samsung's range of displays, so, no, I'm not stanning for my preference here
/PRNewswire/ -- Sony Electronics Inc. today introduced the 'Perfect for PlayStation®5' campaign for its BRAVIA XR TV models Z9J, A90J, A80J, X95J and X90J...
Sony has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that the same two features are coming to last year's X900H / XH90 as well as two of the more affordable 2021 models, X80J and X85J, through future firmware updates.
Delivering new features to earlier models is the equivalent of handling it in a good way as far as I'm concerned. Meanwhile, C9 owners have been abandoned by LG
C9 is a year older than X900H and still rated as the better TV compared to X900H. Thanks for further highlighting how inadequate X900H is even with its updates
no idea how that is a steal by wasting 3500 rupees per month and for games that are removed before you can finish them off.xbox gamepass is garbage with no local prices

Just finished Diablo 4 season in hurry to play Fallout 4 but gamepass released another banger in the form of Star Wars on April 25th. Gamepass is a steal man.
Is it just me or people lately seem to defend every bad game design decision made by the devs and try to give bullshit reasons for that? Or perhaps it's because I'm on reddit and discord
