Its not a problem lol, some people are just different. Even i get laughed at for watching anime and laughed at more when i rage and tell everyone cartoons are different than anime. Its completely normal, so dont worry about it too much

Anime = Japanese Cartoons :tv:

@OP - It's completely fine, do what YOU want to do, not what someone else wants you to do.

Saw this in the shoutbox sticky. I was like wtf?

@OP: You're just fine brah. Liking the stuff you've always liked isn't a bad thing. Your friends are misunderstanding maturity as being interested in "mature " things. That's not the case, being mature means having mature perspectives on things not losing interest in kid stuff and gaining interest in adult stuff. So keep on living the way you currently are, you're perfectly fine.

Be more social , Go out and interact with people of different type . Instead of sitting home and watching tv whole day and playing video games do something else .

Set a aim and try to achieve it .

If there was a award for "Best Thread Title," I think this thread more than deserves it.

On to the topic: This is not a problem; as long as you're not over-doing it, I think you're completely normal. Everyone's friends' laugh at the things their friends do and ridicule them to some degree. You have to stop being so overly sentient. Would you stop breathing too if your friends mocked you for it? I think not. I have been watching cartoons and animated movies all my life and it'll be a long, long time before I grow this habit out.

Thats the worst thing about "friends"! They just need excuses to laugh at you. When I tell my friends about PakGamers, they laugh at me and say "Bekar hai", "Farigh logon ke liay hai" but I know its a really good forum where I get all the latest news about games, gadgets, apps, etc. etc. Its just in the nature of friends that they have to laugh at you. A friend of mine makes fun of my FB photo just for no reason. Remember one thing, these friends have no respect for us these days, they just need to find the minutest of loopholes within us and then laugh like idiots :/

come on dude..... i too get laughed by my friends.... like tu kya har waqt pc mai ghusa rehta ha, tere paas haram k pesay hain jo pc py itna ura deta ha and crap like that..... to be honest i dont think mental maturity is weighed by ur likes and dislikes.... it is measured by the choices and decisions u make for urself in ur life.... if ur decisions are correct and prove fruitful to u, u are just doing fine.......
u have all the right to do whatever u feel like cx it is ur own life and haters are always gonna try to grind u down... just be sure to get back up and fight....... remember its ur life and it is supposed to be lived by ur own terms,,, not someone else's..

Many games are made for teens and young adults how can they call it kid's stuff? thankfully i've not faced this problem my family is fine with my gaming habit and i don't have any friends outside fb(which i rarely visit) so i guess if friends are like this, i am better alone :). and for cartoons try watching them when no one is with you like late night. cn show Courage and dexter, kids next door, power puff girls after 12am.(at least it used to few months back ) :D

Okay so loving older things is a sign of "Mind not growing"? Hm, by this logic i must be 5 year old.

Still like Michills Tofee. Love chocolate. Watch tom & jerry. Play with kids in Dirt.

well if your friends truly think that they are mature then how many of them get married and if they still act ike teenagers (still rely on dating to fulfill their ....) then they also consider them self as kids , well yeh age effect on some people like i am 23 but with every passing day my habit of gaming is gradually decreasing as well social mood is also changing , like now i am not so friendly person (even if my friends invite me i never go to them) become more work/job oriented (some time i took extra work to home as well) less talkative etc etc . so just chill but also try to be rational because we are living in the country where people dont have respect for others feeling , so make your self a bit of soldier type guy . it will be beneficial for you in long term .

There's nothing wrong with you brother, I watch cartoons too, don't let you're friends get to you, just because you like different things from them
it doesn't mean you're immature, people aren't happy with anyone till you follow them to the dot, so don't sweat it, chill :D

Just BE YOURSELF, and don't let the world mold you for the worse.
Listen to what God & the Prophet (SAW) say; you're fine as long as you're not into bad stuff, and do good :wink2:

I am 28 and I watch Tom and Jerry, Ben 10 and Anime and all of Animation movies. I love Dexter's Laboratory.

You are stepping into age group with equal interest in cartoons and very in depth news analysis. Perfectly normal, everyone needs a place to calm down and relax, for you it may be cartoons.

BTW how would you justify those morning show hosts who are all above 38 and they act like teens.

Its fine if you have your own interests that sometimes don't match with other people of your age group. It has alot to do with your instincts, upbringing and lifestyle. The most important thing to worry about isn't your friends pointing fingers at you or making embarrasing comments but your success in life as an individual.
A person should prioritise his activities in a way that he can become a well-settled and groomed personality in the society. If one keeps himself occupied in fun-filled activities which doesn't contribute in his education, job, public relations then a time will come when he will realize that he had been wasting his time in the wrong stuff.
