How to make virtual console games run on your WII

if you have a modded Wii it is real easy to do , once you know how.
the method i used to get the VC releases to work was the Twilight hack.( you will need the The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game original or copy.) I used a copy.

Europe/Australia RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN rzdp0.bin
Asia RVL-RZDJ-0A-0 JPN rzdj0.bin
America RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN rzde0.bin
America RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA rzde0.bin
America RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA rzde2.bin

step 1

now open Twilight_hack_0.1_alpha3a

choose the appropriate file:
rzdp0.bin < this one is for pal users
rzdj0.bin < this one is for japanese wii users
rzde0.bin ** i used this one** (i have ntsc/uc wii)
rzde2.bin < this too can also be used by ntsc/uc console owners but above one is preffered

copy the file to the folder and rename "data.bin"

/private/wii/title/RZDE (NTSC)
/private/wii/title/RZDP (PAL)

step 2

open the WAD-Installer_v1.1 *** I used the newset wad installer ***

copy the wad-installer.elf to the mem card root rename to boot.elf

step 3

now copy the virtual console game to the mem card
on mem card you need a wad directory and then put the virtual console game in the wad file. SD card: wad/title.wad

installing the virtual console game to the wii

insert the mem card and game into the wii (Front slot)

copy the save file to the wii from the sd card

now load twilight princess save "run backwards or talk to the dood"

it will boot to a dos like screen and will ask you to press "RESET" to install do that

it will install vc game and reboot by its self

once all done enjoy playing

Thanks, I have already installed the twilight hack but now the homebrew channel has also been officially released it is much more convenient and u dont have to boot zelda every time. You can also play region free games using this hack , ( details at wiibrew.com ) , now just hope that someone comes up with code to play backups (non-original) games using this hack . that can easily be done but the people at wiibrew are not doing it because "it blatantly supports piracy "

I believe that the easiest way is to burn wiibrews iso to a dvd, pop it in your console and install it. The just use the wads on your sd card and play. Saves the twilight hack procedure. heres a link from where u can get the iso:

Question: Cant we Just Download Wiiware games from our PC and copy them on our SD card and make them work by the copying it from the SD card into the Wii System, Memory??

well i haven't did my softmodding yet so can't say but all things would go accordingly but i did heard that if u are on 4.2u and above then say good bye to vc

you can play vc games on 4.2 u its very easy and i think there is no risk of brick even

no tuttorial u cant find anything on the net for this but i just came up with my own method its quite simple first tell me you got hombrew channel and an sd card formated to FAT32 and make sure its of about 1 gb . and the card should be empty nothing in it k. you have to make to new folders in it named "apps" and "wad" fine then you got to download wad manager any version heres the address to v 1.3 download it (http://dl.qj.net/wii/homebrew/wad-manager-v13.html) then unzip it u should see a wadmanager something like this .dol file . ok so what you now got to do is in your sd card make a folder called "wadmanager13" place it in the apps folder then extract that .dol file into this "wadmanager13" folder ok so so now rename that file to "boot.dol"ok remember this ok now go to this website (http://wehackwii.pbworks.com/VC-Wads) now from here download the vc games you want then after that put all those donloaded vc games in to your wad folder on the sd card understand then put the sd card into the wii and go to hb channel from there load wad manager 1.3 fine now press a then it will ask you to select device select the sd card now your wads will appear go to the wad you want to install and press a then press + to confirm installation and done very important when downloading wads be carefull of the region enjoy
