How I almost got duped buying PS4 games on OLX

Hey fellow gamers I've been out of the gaming scene for a while until recently, when I bought a PS4 pro, since my PC is my full time workstation.

Looking for second hand games online I stumbled across this ad on OLX (https://www.olx.com.pk/item/playstation-4-fifa-20-iid-1014286375).

Thank God I had the presence of mind to notice that some the was off about the receipt. It had no tracking number and all the lettering seems a little too perfect.

TCS has a very convenient service to verify such receipts. You simply whatsapp the receipt to them and they verify if it's real or fake. Turns out it's a complete hack job, according to the TCS rep they never mention on the receipt what is inside and the order "History ID" does not exist.

I brought up the no tacking number issue with the olx seller but he was just making excuses that he left it in his house, now he's too far and I should just pay. "No Issues bro" was his way of coaxing me. Since I refused to budge until a valid tracking number was provided, he blocked me.


So, in conclusion fellow gamers stay safe and take all precautions with your hard earned money.

Maybe can't say for sure. From now on wards I'll persist that sellers send me my packages through TCS so that I can verify them, before paying.

I Only prefer hand to hand deals on olx as in other cities ads are 70%scam on olx. In my circles lot of people were scammed on olx.

Not every one is a scam, I recently bought Schiit Audio Fulla from a isb guy, paid full in advance, got LCS receipt with tracking no within a hour and the DAC next day with no issues.
