HEC to abolish 2 years degree from 2018

HEC has decided to abolish 2 year BA/BSc and MA/MSc degree programs from 2018 and 2020 respectively. HEC has made policy that all government and private institutions will offer 4 year Graduation and Masters degree programs. The decision has been taken to bring an improvement in quality of education in Pakistan..

Your thoughts on this? Am currently in B.com and scared like fuck :|

Just changing the time frame without changing syllabus wont change the quality of education.

Education and Job are two different things. You can't compare them. The only thing that matters is experience when it comes to job.

I think there are very little universities offering 2 years BS/MA degrees. Mostly BS.Hons is being offered nowadays.

Experience is a must for a job, no arguing about it, but after fsc/fa/a levels only 2 years of education is unacceptable. 2 years is an extremely short time to be learning anything! Moreover considering our education system 2 years is even less time than it would be in a country with more developed education system.

HEC provided justification on this, they have said that this 2 year program isn't recognized worldwide and that is why they're ending it since it causes problems for student. The lack of proper education must be the primary reason these programs are not recognized by other countries.

yeah that makes some sense. Mostly companies and institutes are filling wth 16 years education system. So a complete 4 years degree should be preferred rather than 2+2 years.
