A Far Cry 6 leak on Hong Kong's PlayStation Store has seemingly revealed the key art, setting, synopsis, and release date for an upcoming sequel in Ubisoft's first-person shooter series.

Far Cry 6 has been revealed a little earlier than planned via a PlayStation Store leak, which has listed it for launch on 18th February 2021.


Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito will play a major role as the dictator of Yara, a fictional country which looks heavily-inspired by Cuba.

You play as Dani Rojas, a local guerrilla fighter who takes on the dictator's rule.

The game's store description lists it as the "largest Far Cry playground to date" with the series' typical jungles and beaches as well as a city - Esperanza, the country's capital.

"Employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground," the description concludes.

PlayStation 4 copies of the game will upgrade for free if you play on PlayStation 5 - which will almost certainly be the same for Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Series X's performance is the most impressive, imo. It's the only console version that actually hits 4k, and maintains the target frame time for over 97% of the time in the gameplay tested.

Started the game on PS4 Pro thanks to a generous code :love:

30 FPS cap on game play unlike the next-gen versions, but it seems to be a pretty rock solid 30 FPS at least.

The stutter is disappointing but its more of an engine issue, otherwise performance is pretty good.

That being said, even PS4 Pro and One X are damn near rock solid 30 FPS for their respective consoles. This might be the most well optimized Far Cry game on consoles at launch.

I played through the campaign missions, most of the side stuff can be easily ignored (the only one's I'd recommend are check points and/or bases as they create fast travel points and have better weapons).

    I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
