I'm in Islamabad and use Nayatel. I currently have a 20mbps limited package, in which nights are unlimited, ie, I can download as much as I want from 6pm-10am. I wanted to shift to one of their "unlimited" packages, except none of them are actually unlimited. Under FUP, they all have a monthly bandwidth limit ranging from 1-2TB. I checked my monthly usage in windows and my phone, and its around 1.1TB, and I'm not even a heavy downloader. But I do stream a lot of youtube and Netflix (often in the "background" when I'm doing boring stuff). If I upgrade to a 50mbps account, a major reason will be downloading and streaming 4K media, which I don't believe is possible with a 1-2TB FUP limit. And if you add my family to the mix, well, you can see why I haven't shifted.

I called them to ask if they had plans to increase the FUP, and the answer was no. The guy I spoke with also told me that the FUP limit has been enforced by the Pakistani government. Furthermore, I've noticed other ISPs (eg PTCL, stormfiber) also market their FUP limited packages as "unlimited".

So my questions are:
1.Are there any truly unlimited internet packages in Pakistan?
2.Is there the possibility of the FUP limit being increased, and/or truly unlimited packages being introduced?
3.Do you guys find 1TB sufficient, or is there a lot of constant checking of bandwidth usage to make sure you don't go overboard?

Check Transworld if it is available in your area. It is unlimited as per my knowledge.
I am using Nayatel 15Mbps and it is sufficient for me as most of my usage is after 6pm and on weekends.
Ptcl has 2000gbs limit for 20Mbps and above.

In past I have asked one of PTA official about this FUP He clarified that PTA never give data usage number to any ISP its their own choice how much to allow. We only need to listen that yes they have some kind of limit on consumer packages.
ISPs can set FUP 5TB , 10TB or 25TB its their own decision.
