Guys. Just switched from PTCL to Zong 4G mobile wifi and download speed is impressive to say the last. But can anyone let me know that why are southeast Asian server pings are so damn high today? Used to get 130-140 pings on PTCL and i'm getting around 240-300 pings on 4g.

Latency isn't that much of quality with these 4G devices. You will get good download upload speed but online gaming will suffer high ping issue.

Ugh and here I was under the impression that the Zong 4G would have stable pings at the very least (Thats what some of my friends tell me)! My PTCL gives me a ping of between 500-1000. I HAVENT PLAYED DOTA FOR A YEAR!!!!! A YEAR I HAVE PLAYED AGAINST UNFAIR BOTS!!!! (also fuck Viper bot, and Monkey King looks op as hell.... unless youre playing Timber xD)

So is it possible to tune it to a better setting and get better pings? One more thing, I actually live in a village, and have a 4mb DSL PTCL connection, would be glad if someone could help. I get 135 ping past 12AM, but before that starting from 2-3 PM till 11PM it stays heavily constrained and literally makes it impossible for me to actually play the game.

You have poor connection mate. The lineman needs to hook up your line to good channel from extension.

That's it? Would that solve the problem? A lineman did come to our house not too long ago, but he said everything is perfect, the location where we live is very conjugated and hence there's problem with the connection; I thought that he was trying to bluff his way out of the work and wanted us to stop point-picking the PTCL people lol. Man this is pretty weird XD

Just noticed same thing. Dota is going awesome at this ping. The ping matters a lot. My abilities are now effective than before. Also last hitting is improved. I hope it stays like this forever.

What is ur ping on Sea?

Every person i played with who has ptcl is getting under 50-90 ping on dubai no matter which city

i get 100 ping in SEA, 90 ping in Japan/Korea, 220 in EU-West and 250 in EU-East.

You get good enough ping in Sea. I am getting higher than that in SEA but lower in Europe servers

Help Needed

Please help me find a solution. I have always had a much higher ping to dota servers than the rest of Pakistan, it seems. I'm on an optic fibre connection with good line stats. Here's the tracert for valve SEA server 1.

I used to get 190ms at day and 130ms at night. However, recently I have started getting around 250ms ping on SEA (since past couple of days), and for some reason Dubai ping has dropped to 130 (It was 90 initially, but for some reason its now 130-140). I cannot find games on Dubai for some reason no matter how much I try, so please guide with SEA ping. I ask for help because even before the ping increased to 250, my ping was abnormally high during day. I got 190, but most friends had around 130-140. I'm from Johar Town Lahore.


EDIT: After testing, I discovered I only fail to find games if I select Dubai in the settings (as in 50 minutes and still searching). This makes it all the more important I fix the SEA ping. Please help
