No, I played the game in Story difficulty the first time, then Impossible on the 2nd

Basically both extremes lol.



Unlike Callisto, this is a very easy to recommend 60 FPS mode. Especially after the VRS removal patch. The only major difference is IQ and some AO in the shadows which you won't notice until someone specifically points it out to you.

It's a fantastic 60 FPS mode.

Which chapter did you choose to avail the single allowed save on the Impossible run?

I have an area in mind too, it was freakish!

Following CerebralTiger's fav VGTech's logic, the game runs perfectly smooth 99.8% of the time with 5th percentiles well above 100fps in a 30mins run

I wonder if the PS5/Series X versions also suffer from loading stutters. Would be the case if it's an issue with the engine's streaming tech

Enabling ReBAR is the real deal, bringing about 10% of additional performance on a 12700k + 4090. That being said, it initially seemed like it was way more of a performance bump (around 20%) but after toggling it off and on and checking again the difference was reduced to 10%.

to reduce stutters after setting video options close the game and delete cache folder in documents, the game will recompile shaders, now i have very less stutters

No that's not how the save works in Impossible.

You can save as many times as you want, you just have 1 slot to save in.

Also, if you die, the game will either delete your save, or ask you to continue in Hard mode, thus locking you out of the Impossible mode achievement.

PS5 also has slower load times compared to Series machines, which is weird.

Looks like PS5 was the secondary platform for this title.

But XSX did have VRS issues, just not as much as PS5.
PC version easily best, 99.9% smooth, DLSS, Ultrawide, not capped at 60fps and RT not capped at 30fps. Sucks for day 1 players but VRS is a non issue now

But you said it hasnt been an issue since launch which is not true.

Console performance mode is 1080p FSR2 to 1440p then typical upscaler which on a 4K display is pretty bad. DLSS at the same 1080p level would be running way higher than 60fps and would look significantly better too. Ultrawide is the cherry on top.

Not an issue compared to the poor PS5 implementation but now its a non-issue on all consoles.

IQ is much better across the board after the VRS removal patch.

who is facing high cpu temps ? @Necrokiller ? i m also getting high temps like 80 to 85, 87, other people r also complaining high temps. something to do Avx thermal target not hitting (as per steam forums). here,s my video

I'm not playing the game yet. Personally under 90C the temps won't bother me but you should look into under volting for this game if you feel the temps are too high, barely any loss of performance and CPU will run significantly cooler.

Beyond the basic frame-rate numbers, there was one other issue I wanted to raise, which affects all console platforms on occasion. During traversal, the game can momentarily pause for a few frames in select instances - like when going down this ramp in chapter three. The game is still technically updating the image each frame if you look closely, but it otherwise behaves like a short stutter.
