The lack of online multiplayer hurt the game's critical reception. It's a major oversight for sure, though, at the same time also understandable, since very few people worked on this arcade port. There are hardly any arcade racers of this sort nowadays. Will grab it on sale

Metacritic matters, and the complaints regarding the lack of online are valid. But that's going to change via a future update. In the meantime, I'll play the local split-screen mode. Arcade racers are non-existent today, but I'm glad to see that Eugene Jarvis is keeping them alive
