Hey all
I'm upgrading from a mini GTX 1060 to a GTX 1080. I want to keep using my old PSU for a couple of months before upgrading. It's an old Antec 550W PSU, been super reliable and I haven't had any issues over the years. My main concern is that the connector I have is a single 6 pin since that's what the 1060 needed. Before that my GTX 770 needed a 6+2 Pin, which I can't seem to find. The 1080 needs two 8 pin (or 6+2 pin?) connectors. I'm guessing I can get the proper converter and connectors but I've heard that isn't recommended. My main question is whether I can get by like that for a couple of months before getting a solid PSU. I don't really want to scrape by and get something okay'ish that might actually be unreliable. Pairing it with an i5 7400 if that helps.
Thanks.
