  • I just saw that it won't be released on the Ps3. Well that's just sad. Who knows if I will even get to play it. I really want to. DICE is a very good company and has impressed me so far except for a few Medal of Honor games.
I finished Mirror's Edge. Now that's how you make a good game. It was mostly good but a bit too linear, I would have found it preferable if there were alternate ways to reach your destination. But DICE is fixing that in the next game making it open-world.
The first-person runner perspective was immersing. The city's model was great and the usage of bright colours. Not many games have such bright colors.
You definitely need to play the game. You will love it if you have an interest in Parkour. But it would be best if you buy an Xbox 360 controller to play the game on PC as I believe the game will be odd to play with a keyboard and mouse.
Was it Samurai X: Trust or Betrayal or Chrome Shelled Regios or Legend of the Legendary Heroes or maybe Phantom ~ Requiem for the Phantom? Never mind, i can't recall the anime.
It was a movie: Sword of the Stranger. It's like The Raid: Redemption in anime form but with swords.
Here's a link detailing how anime is made - How Anime is Made
You definitely need to read it if you are a fan of anime and production.

"Well i think you have valid points but i wouldnt completely agree with you because not everyone's same."
Sure, why not? I don't want to pressure anyone to agree with me. But my posts only tell what I believe to be the cause of rising sexual content in anime and other media in general.

    "Then there's natsume (always exemplary)."
Point. Natsume yuujinchou is by a female author. If you want to watch an anime like Natsume then I would definitely tell you to watch Mushishi. Trust me, you will love Mushishi.
Code Geass had a lot of skimpy dressing. Death note had a few scenes of Misa in skimpy clothes. Don't know about Attack on Titan.
"Those you are talking about, i think either lack talent to produce something exceptional, or just want to earn money faster while not working hard enough for it."
I still disagree with you. It's the consumer's fault for wanting sex, porn, women dressed in skimpy attire etc that we are getting such media. Watch any movie or tv show nowadays and there will always be a scene with a lot of passionate kissing, a girl getting undressed, people simulating sex and so on. People want it and the makers have to give it, otherwise their works don't sell. For example: we are not buyers of anime. We just watch anime and get done with it. It's the Japanese that buy anime and give back profit to the makers. And unfortunately most teenagers and adults buying anime feel desperate or you can call the "ecchiness" their guilty pleasure. Therefore the makers have to satisfy the guilty pleasure of the consumers otherwise no one will buy their works and give them money.
    Will do.

    About the xbox hacking thing:
MIT student hacks into Xbox - CNET News and An open letter from bunnie, author of Hacking the Xbox: | No Starch Press. You can download the ebook the student wrote and find that Microsoft engineers were lazy and didn't care much leading to "security fails". It was not deliberate.

Makoto Shinkai makes feature films and films have a runtime of 1 to 2 hours compared to a tv series which is usually of 14*24=5.6 hours or 24 episodes * 24 minutes = 9.6 hours. In case you didn't know, every frame in anime is handdrawn and that is a hell lot of work to do. So the production values of movies seems higher and well, it depends on the studio too.
"Well i think this does not justify the silly way they use genre "romance" to their desires"
I would say that inherently every person desires romance or a relationship with the opposite sex, it's hardwired into humans. For many romance is a guilty pleasure. So companies are feeding off on the weaknesses of people. It always works.

"Most of the times anime tagged in this genre are not romantic but ecchhi"
It has become the norm now. You can't escape from provocative themes and sexual content in most media forms nowadays. People want porn/sexual themes, companies have to include them or people won't buy their products. The anime industry is not as big as hollywood so the companies are forced to exploit sexuality because the makers' lives depend on the little money they get from the small market of anime. Hollywood is international. It earns money from over 100 countries or so. Anime is new and only very few countries import or localize anime. Blame the audience, not the makers.
I will keep that anime in mind. Anyhow, I did plan to watch at least 3-4 otome anime before you mentioned hiiro no kakera to me. It's nice to try out everything so you can judge different things.
Nope. I don't think i have watched any anime from 2012 or 2013.

No company will intentionally make their consoles hackable. It is not sensible. The more games are sold means more royalty money to Microsoft and Sony and we all know every company wants profit. So they will always try to make their consoles hack-proof.

Ahaha, no. If you think I know a lot about Japan then you are wrong. I am just bluffing my way through. Most of what I know about Japan is limited to what I have gathered from a few popular news articles and their various media.
Or maybe it is just that the drama producers are making works that their audience desires. We can clearly see with the falling birthrate in Japan and the lack of people getting married that romance is way down in numbers. People there want to indulge in romance but most of the time don't know to, I guess. So these tv stations and producers are doing half the job for them. It's kind of giving a push on the back of people to follow what they want or something. Then again most of the audience is perhaps people lacking in social skills and so can't form inter-personal relationships, so the tv stations are taking unfair advantage of that. It's all business in the end.

    You are welcome.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that the "lots of boys after same girl" scenario applies to all otome works but that's generally the idea. It's like a male harem anime -- for the female audience. Good slice of life is good, I always appreciate that. I will keep the anime in mind and ME too. But it will be a long time before I get to them, probably.

Personally I want the consoles to be hacked. Thing is if the console is not hacked then I cannot play games, if the console is hacked then too I cannot play majority of the games since they are too expensive for a third-world country resident. Not to mention Pakistan market is horrible and people rip you off, EVERY TIME.

I want Microsoft out of the console industry. That way there would be less exclusives that I will miss out on. But I am not going to care about these next-generation consoles for 2 years since I am not thinking of buying them any time before the 2 years timeframe.
Onto MBMH now. It was is an outstanding tv series. Managed to make me laugh out loud a lot of times in each episode so I love it for that. If I knew how to do video editing and make photo collages properly I would have made a list of the funniest moments but oh well.
The only problem I had with the show was when they force romance. Romance should not be forced into every tv series that the Japanese make, it becomes cheesy and artificial. And have you noticed that the Japanese try so hard to make you cry in about every show they make?
I absolutely loved the show. Definitely one of my favorites. The main actor was amazing. Loved his expressions and his, "anya" catchphrase. He is definitely the highlight of the show.
But there's a new hack upcoming -- rumour has it it will work on the newer consoles as well. So if you are planning to buy a Ps3 it would be best to wait and see if the newer hack is a genuine article.
I have been keeping track of "The Last of Us". I was waiting for it anxiously. Sadly I have filled my Ps3's hdd with a lot of games and the Last of Us is very big (33gb) so I will need to finish quite a few games before I can even fit the game. I suspect I will have to install game data too to make the game load quicker so I am going to be needing 3-5 gb more.
Hiiro no Kakera's tags on animenewsnetwork have bishounen which means "pretty boys" or " beautiful looking boys", there's also "male harem" which means that there are a lot of boys after one girl, wikipedia says that Hiiro no Kakera is a visual novel which is an "otome game", otome game meaning game aimed at girls or for the female market. There's also the distinct art style by which it is easy to tell if an anime is aimed at a general, male or female demographic.
Agree with what you said about Portal 2. For me the game's highlight was the humour. Can't top that!

I will get to Mirror's Edge but in a while. I was spending my last few days watching two tv shows: Firefly and Twin Peaks. Now that I have finished both I can get to games. Yes the Ps3 is hacked completely. Though the newer models haven't been hacked since Sony made some changes hardware- or software-wise due to which you can't hack it.
I don't think that's embarrassing. I have watched Candy Boy (shoujo ai) and I liked it a lot. The name is a very odd one, yes, but I really liked the anime, its high production values, simple but nice story and the music.
I finished Portal 2 soon after it was released. One of the best game on PC. You can play it over and over without boring yourself.

I have Mirror's Edge on my Ps3. Haven't played it yet because I am busy with a few other games. I am saving the good stuff for later.
Wow, they really improved Faith's character model. The game looks way gorgeous now.
"the protagnist was way better than those of hollywood and other fighting movies production like john foo"
I wholly agree with you. Action movies from hollywood nowadays are unsatisfying and not fun to watch. The fights are "lame" as well because the movies rely too much on guns now.

I looked up that anime. I haven't watched any otome anime before. I doubt I'll like it because it's aimed at the female market, hence the word "otome". But I will watch an otome anime someday.
My pleasure, but real credit goes to my friend who recommended it to me.
"but couldnt skip more that a minute or two during this one"
That's because this movie was full of long hand to hand fights and the moves were unique most of the time. What's more amazing is that this movie is from Indonesia. Such an amazing that is not from Hollywood. Hollywood movies nowadays are not that good since every fight ends with a bullet.
I've watched iRobot and the Bourne trilogy. I will look into Eagle Eye.
Also I finished MBMH. I will try to post my thoughts on it barring any unforeseen circumstances.
I will technically start MBMH today so you will hear from me by night. I spent my yesterday finishing Breaking Bad's season 4.
