Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

Which is why I said "new" favorite company

The money spent by me on PlayStation has seen a drastic decline. It's mainly my Call of Duty machine now

Happiness for Necrokiller is when PlayStation acquires a new studio, so that he may welcome it to the Steam family

Drastic decline is totally expected, after all, CerebralTiger already bent over for all the $70 scams, as well as the $60 timed exclusive that ultimately benefits MS as well. All within the first year

Two of those $70 games happen to be from talented studios, and I support good talent. There are only a handful of those at PlayStation lol.

I'm there day 1 for anything Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Housemarque, or Sucker Punch make. No interest in the output of the other first-party studios

Also, Deathloop was for $54 on PSN, and it's not even a timed exclusive because it's also on PC (whatever state that's in lol). Had to support Dinga Bakaba for a job well done

The part even Naughty Dog abandoned after a year? Good riddance

Just like COD, then? Seems to have worked out well for them

There has to be an annual Uncharted MP release to compare it with CoD

lmao not everyone who plays COD moves over to the next one at launch. Both Infinity Ward and Treyarch have their own fanbase. COD is just massive like that. Any given game from the series dwarfs the biggest Battlefield game ever. There are still many who play MW 2019, heck even WWII

Also, Naughty Dog doesn't have multiple studios collaborating with them on the development of their games. Their model of releases is, therefore, different, with emphasis on a lengthy campaign/story mode. That said, TLOU Part II didn't ship with multiplayer because their mp team was doing a dedicated ongoing mutiplayer game, so you're likely to see the multiple years of support with that one.

Crossfire dwarfs CoD, doesn't mean I'm gonna start playing it

Comparing a free to play game's user base with that of a AAA $60/$70 game. Yikes!

There's a reason why COD's franchise revenue is 2nd only to Mario and Pokemon's

I mean, if you're gonna brag about player base, then why does the price matter? Its not like every F2P game will dwarf a $60 MP game. At the end, Crossfire is just massive like that

What's next? CerebralTiger buying FIFA/NBA/Madden every year because they're also "massive like that"?

Not only does price matter, but also the fact that a vast majority of COD's user base needs to pay to play online. Damn.

One COD game and a first-party game from either ND, IG, HM, SP should serve as enough reason to own a console

Though as an NBA fanboy, that's a consideration you'll probably have to make, given the state of NBA games on PC

PC and cloud gaming is where Sony is also headed, just like Microsoft.

lmao PC won't come close to adding even a fraction of an additional audience of 80 million, and cloud simply doesn't have that kind of global reach. The market for AAA games is mainly on consoles. If Jimmy's serious about not 'gating' PlayStation first-party games, he'll need to put them on Xbox too. MLB The Show '21 has proven there's a big market for PlayStation games on Xbox

For now

Even with an audience of 100+ million on PS4 their best selling first party games barely cross 20 million. This is why even Shawn Layden wanted to expand the IPs beyond the limitation of the console model

Shawn Layden wasn't in a position to make such decisions. The PlayStation boss prior to Jim Ryan was Andrew House, and he saw PC as PlayStation's primary competitor

Even Andrew House didn't believe the exclusives were enough to stop people from building a PC. The current leadership doesn't believe they can entice everyone to buy a PS5 with exclusives. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
