I actually gave in to the Astro A50 hype way back in 2014, and they were one of the worst pair of headphones I owned. Not sure if they have improved or not with the newer models, atleast their current-gen support is a bit better.

Currently using Razer Thresher Ultimate that I got for PS4 in 2019. Because of no optical port on either current-gen console, using them via optical port of the TV. They aren't equally good either and Razer's support is one of the worst there is.

Guys, can we start a new discussion about which is the best gaming headphones ? :p

Specifically for PS5's 3D tempest audio. Presently, I have the Astros but just curious about others.
The Steel Series Arctis 7X is a good choice if you're looking for good non-BT wireless range and low latency. They work with both the PS5 and Series X.

When PCs can run games at unrestricted frame rates:

When CerebralTiger's TV finally catches up to monitors to lower input latency (even in 60fps games LOL):

Some context here? What is Mr. RusTron even talking about 🤷‍♂️ 😄

Lower display latency at 120Hz is essentially free vs the loss in image quality in order for a game to hit 120fps 🤷‍♂️

Now, South Korean tech publication IT Chosun has reported that another official from the company said, “There is no change in the idea that our QLED TVs have better picture quality than OLED TVs. I’m trying to make it clear that the rumors are groundless,” during a phone call yesterday. “It is true that LCD prices are rising, and we are facing a difficult situation, but we have enough capacity to overcome as a No. 1 company,” he said.
Instead, the company is planning to switch from regular LCD and QLED to Mini-LED and microLED technologies.

But but...roooomers 🤣

is there a solid QLED vs OLED "from gaming perspective" comprehensive review on the matter?
It comes down to your preference for blacks / contrast vs HDR peak brightness with no loss in detail, which ultimately depends on your preferred viewing environment. In a dark room, OLED wins out. In a moderately lit or bright room, QLED w/ mini-LED back-lighting wins.

QLED won't achieve OLED-like blacks until micro-LED backlit TVs gets cheaper to manufacture. This is ultimately Samsung's goal.

Another thing worth noting - a 30fps game is a nightmare to look at on an OLED. Because OLEDs have exceptional response time, there's a lot of stutter with low frame rate content. With 24fps movies, enabling motion interpolation improves things. Doing the same while playing a 30fps game results in added input latency.

This is missing some random in-ear style headphones and Bose QC-25 ...they are somewhere

Those DT770 pro https://www.soundstagesolo.com/inde...ones/252-beyerdynamic-dt770-studio-headphones in the middle are studio monitor headphones and are used for mixing songs, so as you can imagine, their overall sound quality throughout the range are detailed and super clear...very full and rich sound experience. A bit big, metal headband so tiny bit heavy and a twisty really long wire

for on-the-move driver though, I personally love the sony 1000xm3 ( I have heard xm4 have even better ANC)
the ANC is top notch, the build quality, sound quality everything is just great.

for wireless buds Jabra 85t and airpods are neck and neck and both are great ( jabra is a tiny bit better ANC and voice through) - I have heard the new sony wf 1000xm4 are the best nowadays.

completely different market and price point
Hyper X are very good for gaming - boomy sound, a bit base heavy - ~ 60 euros

Sony XM4 - Active noise canceling king, excellent profile all around, bluetooth, etc ~ 250 euros
