Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again. • First-Person Action – Players will assume the role of Ethan Winters and experience every up-close battle and terrifying pursuit through a first-person perspective. • Familiar Faces and New Foes – Chris Redfield has typically been a hero in the Resident Evil series, but his appearance in Resident Evil Village seemingly shrouds him in sinister motives. A host of new adversaries inhabiting the village will relentlessly hunt Ethan and hinder his every move as he attempts to make sense of the new nightmare he finds himself in.

It's weird that they're listed as two separate products. Guess this means you'll get the game delivered in the regular edition cover along with a code for preorder bonuses (unless that's already been delivered via email).
No, nothing delivered yet. I'm guessing the extra content (The Trauma Pack) will be a code in a leaflet.

There is something called "The Tragedy of Ethan Winters" included in the Deluxe and all above packages, there is still literally no information online about what that thing exactly is. Looking at the thumbnail of the deluxe packaging, it *LOOKS* like its either a digital art book.

Although I would LOVE it if its a physical art book like the TLoU 2.

DF review.

- Both PS5|SX run 99.99% locked at 60 FPS with RT off.
- RT on SX has a 7 to 10% performance advantage in stress areas.
- With VRR, the SX drops in RT mode are invisible to the naked eye.
- Series S runs RT on performance is terrible, drops below 30 FPS.
- PS5 loads saves in 1.5 seconds compared to 8 seconds on SX|SS.

Wait, did they take out loading screens entirely from the PS5 version? That's pretty awesome, if it's the case throughout the game.
It's one of those 'one load only' games, once you're in the game its completely seamless to the end.

1.5 second on PS5, 8~ second on SX|SS and 30+ going by the demo on the PS4.

Comparing checkerboarding performance with maximum settings at native resolution 😂

PS5 and SX trading punches with 6800 and 6800 XT, 3070 here.

Very impressive.

These benchmarks are conducted with unlocked frame rates, so they also factor in readings above 60fps in their average. For a direct comparison with the PS5/Series X versions, the frame rate would have to be capped to 60. Also, the internal resolution of the PS5/Series X versions is below 4K and unknown at this point, and the PC benchmark is likely also running at higher settings than the PS5/Series X versions.

Necrokiller's broski Alex will probably do a more 'fair' comparison in his PC analysis 😄

DF:

"It should be stressed though that this implementation of CB rendering is extremely robust and looks virtually identical to a full native 4K image".

Rendering native pixels seems like a waste of resources if the CB rendering is identical to a native 4K image. 🤷‍♂️

For all intents and purposes, and barring some likely preset settings same as the RE2/3makes, the next gen consoles are on equal footing with 3070 caliber cards here.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Its one thing to console yourself when the game isn't running at a native resolution vs cbr, and another to compare performance metrics between the two as "equal footing" 🤷‍♂️

Alex ki video aajae gi footing equal karne :p

Just based on what we're seeing, the game runs roughly at 60 FPS avg on 3070, 6800XT level cards at 4K with RT on, the same specs it runs at on the PS5/SX.

the numbers don't lie, but to be fair this is a cross-gen game, good next-gen performance was to be expected.

Just saying, you might think it looks okay, and that's fine. But performance metrics aren't equal when you're rendering native 4K vs CBR.

Not to mention the RT and base graphics presets likely don't match either. There is noticeable pop in in the PS5/Series X. Mesh quality is likely not running at Max.

I was getting 100fps+ in the Castle demo. Those numbers don't lie either.

PS5 & SX in reality are more like 6700 xt & 3060Ti
Yes around 3060 ti but slightly lesser Ray tracing performance. This was unfortunately a AMD sponsored title or so I have heard so no DLSS support. At this point DLSS support should be mandatory with every AAA release seeing how it produces better results than native res with huge performance uplifts. I hope Nvidia really push this feature to more developers
