PSA: Returnal's latest patch corrupting save files, disable auto-update. (UP: new patch available, if save is already corrupted it’s gone forever)
There were some people talking about it in the OT but I figured a thread could be of use as well. You can check that this is not an isolated event as well as in the Subreddit people are reporting the same issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/Returnal Hopefully Housemarque will have a fix soon...

No issues here as well, even the weapon proficiency gets raised to 9 when dashing directly to biome 3. Saves a bit of a grind.Damn that sucks
Luckily, things are fine at my end after the update. No data corruption, no crashes.
Encountered the save file corruption thing all of a sudden last night lol. Good thing there's a recent backup on the cloud. Re-downloading the game now. A minor hassle for a fantastic game

From the videos I have seen of the boss fights so far, they should make the player go in all 8 directions like in a classic bullet hell shooter.
Gamers are just strafing left to right whilst shooting & getting away with it rather easily. The projectiles almost always home in on you, which makes it extremely predictable.

Did a 5 hour run and made it to the final boss, and this was before I even installed the new update
It doesn't get more bullet hell than this game. The first 3 bosses don't necessarily make a strong case for it. Bullet collisions are deliberately made somewhat forgiving. This is the case in Nex Machina as well, and it works really well in both games. They'd have been too frustrating without this design consideration.
Was a pleasant surprise to hear this song's theme thoughout biome 4, and then hear the whole track during the subsequent house segment.

I dont think games have looked any better since 2019 onwards and they are performing worse and worse. Game developers have really dropped the ball.
