A 5th percentile frame rate of 58fps and frame time counts of 16.67ms 99.5% of the time indicate that the game is doing an excellent job of meeting its performance target. Cutting edge effective IO throughout and low latency at work here.

P.S. The rare fps drops to high 40s are due to GPU intensive scenarios, and aren't related to IO.

1st percentile of 53fps in a 13 mins video. Doesn't bode well for a full playthrough 🤷‍♂️

And now we have VG Tech's confirmation that even with the latest patch there are I/O related stutters, which Alex already pointed out before VG Tech. Whaa happunnn? lol

P.S: Never said the 46fps drops are due to I/O, which is why I provided the screenshot of stutters above it which are I/O related.

13 minutes of footage was uploaded. VG Tech tested a larger sample of data from the first two biomes.

As seen in the video, traversing a majority of the doors in the first biome doesn't cause stutter. The 2nd biome doesn't even have doors for the most part, and there's no indication of IO related stutter there. This leads me to believe IO isn't the limitation in those few instances seen in the first biome 🤷‍♂️

The larger the sample, the greater the number of occurrences in similar or worse scenarios 🤷‍♂️

The procedural nature of levels means different assets are being loaded. As seen in the video, presence of stutters while transitioning leads me to believe they are related to I/O 🤷‍♂️

As seen in the video, assets are also being streamed in during the 2nd level 🤷‍♂️

Either way, the lack of any loading screens, the "procedural nature of levels", the "ant-woman" traversal speed all come together really well 99.5% of the time to deliver a showcase of the PS5's IO capabilities (please wait a month to be blown away even further by a certain first party game lol).

lol what can I say, zero crashes here. Literally zero. Then again, I've only ever encountered a crash on my PS5 with one game i.e. Cyberpunk 2077 🤣 🤷‍♂️



That said, it sucks for those who are having issues. Housemarque should look into it asap.

Wow. For a game of this design. Bugs would kill all it's hype, very fast!

They must fix this asap.

quite a few friends in housemarque, so super happy at the reception - the game looks gorgeous, they have their own internally particle engine, and the " 3d demo-scene" root of the studio really shines through
