The best console version to play at launch will be either Series X/S or PS5 version. They have the horsepower to push 60fps.

Man, other studios must be feeling really bad right about now. CDPR paying for overtime while they themselves have to fight for pay owed to them. Good guy Poland (y)

Ah, the Trump apologist Colin Moriarty. I wonder if CDPR is pro-Trump as well. They've demonstrated his traits in the past with their take on sensitive social issues.
Considering the kind of things their twitter account posts every now and then, it's safe to say the twitter handler has all the subtlety and nuance of a baseball to the face 🤷‍♂️

Speaking of, looks like PG-favorite Jason Schrier is getting the usual crap from the usual kind of fans.

Let's say CDPR generates $40 Million annual profit for the year 2020. 10% of that is $4 Million. There are around 500 people working on Cyberpunk 2077. 4,000,000 / 500 = $8000 per individual and that's assuming everyone is paid equally, which is likely not the case. Not to mention, they also have 3 other studios working on the game, namely Qloc, Testronic and Lionbridge.

As much as I hate to say it but this is the norm in the software industry (gaming/non-gaming). Whenever there's a launch or a release deadline, you almost always put in late hours and weekend work. In some places (read: shitty), this is the norm, release deadline or not.

What's shitty is unpaid extra work so if they're being paid, its fine.

Exactly. What is the big deal? Just delay the game till Christmas or something. That won't even be a surprise anymore since the game has been delayed many times for similar reasons. Many people even expected another delay.
The worst/best part is that some are latching onto that "10% bonus" as the best thing ever when the wording clearly states its something they have done annually for years, its not something new just for the benefit of the employees being forced to crunch lol.

Additionally from Jason Schrier:

" As I reported today, this week's email is the first instance of "mandatory" crunch. Some at CDPR say they've been crunching for months. Others have been working overtime in fits and starts for years. "
This is just the first instance where CDPR (or any company at all ?) have officially mandated crunch, on top of the crunch employees already do and CDPR's multiple failed promises to curb crunch culture.

No wonder you read things about employees being unhappy and bad retention all the way back from 2015 (and before):

Employee retention is terrible.
If you want to learn Game Development this place is not for you
The company is also extremely cheap towards its employees. Despite the success of the Witcher, QA is paid around the minimum wage, which is barely anything

Now watch how quickly this thread about a CDPR game and the mistreatment of CDPR employees will turn into a thread about another completely unrelated company 🤷‍♂️
