lol and how does this conflict what I said? It's not exclusively a stealth game. There are lethal and non-lethal ways of playing, and stealth was seen in the trailer. These are also Kojima's words, which I posted 2 pages back:

I can’t really speak on that right now but in a word, it’s an action game – an open world game, with a lot of freedom. You have a lot of freedom of choice to do what you want to do and you can get in vehicles and so on. If you are a fighter, there’s plenty of opportunity for that. If you’re not that type of player, there are other ways to play this game. I can’t really say much more, but it’s an open-world, action game that’s very intuitive to play. Once you get into the world and start to explore more, we’re hoping there’s something there you’ve never seen before.
The social strand system is indeed new, as is cargo load management. But I was talking about the core mechanics, like movement, or those pertaining to enemy encounters i.e. shooting, melee, and stealth.

Kojima implies the game can subjectively conform to different genres, which is great. Sounds like Metacritic + Necrokiller certified game of the year material to me.

Kojima Productions can't do a hands-on session with the press for now, since they won't be at E3 unfortuately ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't know about CerebralTiger certified GoTY, facing very stiff competition from Blood and Truth this year :hah:
If A Plague's Tale (despite getting the same reception from critics) can be a potential Necrokiller certified GoTY contender, surely Blood and Truth can be the same for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But yeah, if Dreams exits early access this year, GoTY 2019 would be a tough call.

Yeah, but it's not a good idea to go with that approach during E3, since the press will be busy covering the expo.
Trailer came out a week ago and E3 hasn't even begun. Kojima fanboy doesn't even know its not a stealth game and we know nothing about the game mechanics being hyped up as "genre defining". But EYEBALLS ARE READY FOR PRE-ORDERS! Truly a perfect case of blind fanboyism and double standards.

I never said it's a stealth game. I said it's a stealth action game. Stealth is not the only way to play, but it's clearly there as seen in the trailer and based on what Kojima said about there being non-combat ways of playing. There's also shooting. Now that we've established that stealth and shooting are both evidently there, I'm confident the game will be mechanically solid (pun not intended) based on Kojima's past work. Hence, preorder confirmed.

Truly a perfect case of blind fanboyism and double standards.
Nah, a perfect case of knowing that a studio that is experienced when it comes to doing good shooting and stealth mechanics will get them right for their next game.

Nice try to cover your double standards but whats 'clearly there' is just a few seconds of crouching in tall grass lol. When a game is branded a 'stealth game' or a 'stealth action game' or a 'stealth shooter' or 'stealth whatever', the primary emphasis is on stealth, not just giving you some pseudo-stealth mechanics like a lot of other games now do too. In the trailer, we saw nothing else. The important thing is, you're getting hyped up over few flashes of 'gameplay' without knowing anything about how it all actually fits together because the most important mechanic was completely absent in the trailer and it has never been shown to the media in a playable state. Now that we've established that you're just a blind Kojima fanboy, you continue eyeing your pre-order.

Nah, just double standards. The primary focus of the game is a mechanic that hasn't been shown at all. The so-called 'great', now reduced to just 'good' shooting and stealth mechanics, are not nearly as important on its execution, if at all.
