Update:

GameInformer coverage interview:

CD Projekt RED has provided the screenshots you see here from its current in-game assets running on its Internal PC development hardware. However, the renderer - the part of the engine that translates the game files into what you ultimately see on screen - is still in development and will boast significant improvements by the time The Witcher 3 ships. "Right now you see the game in the old renderer, but it's going to be taken to a truly next level," says gameplay producer Marek ZSiemak. In particular, the developers tell us that skin shaders and the dynamic lighting model will be markedly more advanced in the final version.

Main highlights:

World supposedly 20% bigger than Skyrim's, says development team. [Tentative, obviously]
30-40 minutes to cross world on Horseback
New streaming technology (CDRED Engine 3)
Geralt's Memory is restored
No chapters/acts
Dude is fucking DONE fighting for everyone else
Everything from solving MYSTERIES to slaying monsters
Coming out on "all top-of-the-line" consoles - I'd say that confirms next-gen is in.
Forms of narrative:

So it's saying that they had to change up their design philosophy when developing TW3, due to the open world structure. So NARRATIVE comes in three forms:

Lowest level = free form activities like crafting, monster slaying (seems to be much more extensive this time around) and questing.

Next level = Political situation of Nilfgaardian invastion is resolved through a core plotline for each area. These areas? -> Skellige, Novigrad and No Mans Land!

Final level = Geralt's main plot line, his search for his loved ones, and the chase of the Wild Hunt.

Sounds like a lot of interwoven plotlines, decision making. You can skip things if you really want, but there will be consequences to your actions if you do so.
Monster hunting:

Clues build up information (like a Bestiary perhaps?)
Books garner information about monsters
Townsfolk provide information
Potions and such are important
Time of day and other conditions affect where monsters appear, and their abilities
Combat Info:

Critical strikes in areas that matter depending on how much you learn about said monster
You can disable a vampires poisoning attack by hitting its venom gland (Vampires are poisonous?) or skewer BOTH ITS HEARTS with a thrust attack (instant kill)
Monsters drop loot like unobtainable alchemical and crafting ingredients for unique potion, mutagen and item crafting.
Provides income as well

Enemy AI completely rebuilt, scripted bosses out
Environmental combat 'contributions' (a dozen types of interactive objects)
---> Wasp hive irritated using Aard

Magical signs retooled
Igni = new flamethrower effect
The magic tree advancement allows secondary sign forms = ie. Igni and a 360-degree blast
Yrden = small trap can be modified into a larger field that slows any enemy

Other trees, Swordsmanship and Alchemy
New strikes under Swordsmanship, boosts like improved stamina and parrying
Mutation mechanic under a different development path
Not much information given about Alchemy path, other than it being based on potions

Horse could be used to access long term stash, as well as Inns
Team aware of frustrations of inventory management in The Witcher
Committed to a less tedious process

Crafting critical to maximize Geralts potential, but weapons and armor can be found in many ways
Players can customize their crafted weapons with some components, ie, monster scales for leather in armor

Each armor piece has unique appearance, new cloth simulation tech.
Barber is in from the get go. Dyeing hair is OUT OF QUESTION, White Wolf.

From the 'Cyberpunk 2077' teaser:

And that's not all that's new. We are about the reveal our other project, which is much closer to being completed, and yes it will be a fully open-world game with an intense story. You can probably guess the game we're talking about. On the 5th of February it will be all clear.
Also:

Sorry for bumping but I watched an interview with the CEO of CDPR and he confirmed that The Witcher 3 (he didn't say Witcher 3 but the second project) is much further along in development than Cyberpunk 2077 and will be announced in the first half of this year. Interview is couple of weeks old but I don't think it was already posted here and some of you were curious which RPG will be released first.
The Witcher 3 much further in development than Cyberpunk, unveil first half of 2013 - NeoGAF
Centrum wyników - TVN CNBC

Witcher 2 was amazing as it is with its semi-open world. If CDPR can maintain its genre-defining storytelling and characterization in an open world Witcher game, then all power to them.

Sure. TW2 was a good game, the story ended very abruptly and without any closure even with the supposed 5 extra hours of content of the EE and the "new" epilogue. As long as it's day and date on 360 and PC I'm all for it :p

ps. Here is the entire transcript of the statement in that screen, its kinda hard to read it like that.

Do you like our latest creation? We certainly hope so :) You may remember that we sometimes send you guys secret messages like this. It's a great way to speak to you instead of burying ourselves in corporate mumbo-jumbo so let's begin!

First of all - have you noticed all the details in our teaser (yes it's a teaser, we'll make a proper trailer in the future) if you know the cyberpunk setting there are some things you can spot. Like implants - look fo rthe weapon hands and the real gun -- corporate emblems that should look familiar and more. Happy Hunting!

You're probably curious about the release date. It's currently scheduled a way off in 2015 but in truth the delivery date is more like "When it's done." We will release cyberpunk to you when we're convinced it is nothing but pure, refined, unadulterated awesome. We want i tot be the most kick ass futuristic RPG ever - ok, maybe this sounds pretty bully, but it is our actual goal! You judge if we deliver it!

OH -- and you may wonder why we announced our game so early before the release. The reason is that we're still building our dev team. So if you are a talented dude or dudette, willing to work in a really different company (Gamers rule & boring corporate stuff drools!!) on a super ambitious project, send us your application right now![email protected]

So you want to know what kind of game cyberpunk 2077 will be? The short description is that it will be a story-heavy nonlinear open world RPG based on the well known cyberpunk pen&paper system and setting. Building open world games is something we are mastering right now, and we believe that properly joining nonlinear gameplay with excellent storytelling will bring a totally new quality. HHH we'll tell some more about it soon!

And that's not all that's new we are about to reveal. Our other project, which is much closer to being completed (and yes it will also be a fully open-world game with an intense story you can probably guess the game we're talking about ) on the 5th of February it will all be clear.

So stay tuned, as we will have quite a lot to show and tell you soon!

We are waiting for you on our newly created forum called Afterlife --what other name could we have chosen for it? :)

CD Projekt RED team.

^2013 will be the year 360 is going to die. Just forget about 360 now and move on :p. It is hard to see it being released on 360, at best, it will get a PC and next gen console release.

Kind of stupid to assume developers will immediately stop supporting the highest software selling platform immediately following new hardware announcement :p The 360 isn't a flop like Xbox 1 was, it's still got the best attach ratio and is selling gang busters.

You really think there won't be annual COD's and shit on 360 this year or the next or the next after that ? :p

I do think there will be a COD and every sequel of popular 3rd party studio like Fifa but i am certainly not interested in them, are you? Most importantly, looking back at BLOPS 2, it was already a huge technical downgrade on consoles, i don't think i will like to play the next sucky COD port on Xbox 360 :p. I am more interested in First/3rd party, consoles only exclusives. Although XBLA will still rock this year, no doubt about it.
So in case of Witcher 3, scheduled for PC, i don't see the use for playing it on 360.

You took the COD example too literally lol. All the big games are going to come on the current generation for atleast one to two more years still, as far as the case of Witcher 3 goes, plenty of people like me got introduced to it on the 360. It was an excellent conversion and the third one is probably going to be the same if its running on the same technology.

By your logic people should've stopped playing/buying all multiplatform games available on PC since 2006, that's not the case unfortunately :p

^^^Actually i forgot about GTA V, but again, it is a timed console exclusive. I am not saying all MP titles shouldn't be played on consoles, but Witcher 3 is going to be a huge graphical leap over Witcher 2, just like Witcher 2 was over Witcher 1. In that case, i don't see how they will fit it on 360. When it comes to titles like Witcher 3, Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313, i wouldn't really play them on 360/PS3 anyways. Next generation titles are either meant to be played on PCs or Next generation of consoles. But sure, there are still plenty of MP games that i would definitely play on 360/PS3 like Tomb Raider, FIFA, DmC etc.

Chandoo go buy yourself a new console.
At this point after they stop making games on the 360 I'm far more likely to buy the steambox than a new console, true story :p

I think with W3 there'll be more focus on the open nature rather than tech, because the project is already near completion according to CRPR, unlike Cyberpunk for which they're making the technology (which will obviously be a game for the next generation of hardware).

Still, have you played the 360 version of W2 ? Digital Foundry called it a superb conversion, rock solid frame rate, near perfect image quality transition and the better lighting engine that never made it back to the PC version.

I wasn't aware of this. I thought they still had a lot to do. If it is releasing this year, then it can definitely come to 360 and it will be good one. But i just don't see the appeal in it, if it is released on, say, Q2 or Q3, 2014.

na bhai na aisi baate na kar :p
Correct me if i am wrong, but how can you use the Steam BPM and most of it's features with pirated copies:mushy:

Check out the transcript of the still from that teaser trailer for Cyberpunk, they say themselves the next project is near completion and will be officially revealed on the 5th of Febuary, they end with a statement like "You can probably guess which game we're talking about". Doesn't leave much options :p

Epic epic epic. Best news I heard this month :D

They need to work on the combat (I played an early patch game and heard that it improved tremendously in newer patches) and also work on open world style (W2 wasn't supposed to be open world though, but if this one is going to be, its gonna be different than W2 in that respect). RPG elements, story, and choice branching NEED TO STAY like they were in W2 :D Best choice branching I've seen in any game ever is present in W2. Big ass bosses like the Kayran and overpowered bosses like Letho need to stay.

All the power to them :) I hope they can pull it off. W2 is one of my all time fav WRPGs. I hope W3 can knock it down and claim a spot for itself (unlike Dragon age 2 in DA series).

The Witcher 3 teased ?

Polish developer CD Projekt Red has added to existing rumours that a Witcher 3 announcement could be on the way.

Posting on the official Witcher community site, the developer revealed an image above an update on the REDkit beta program.
The image depicts the hilt of Witcher protagonist Geralt's sword.
"If you are wondering what's that in that picture above--well, we'll leave it for your imagination to answer," the developer said.
Last week, a secret message from CD Projekt Red was reportedly uncovered in the developer's Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, which spoke of a "fully open-world game with an intense story".
CD Projekt Red has announced that it will reveal its next project on February 5. The REDkit is the developer's set of Witcher 2 modding tools.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was released in May 2011 for the PC to awarm critical reception, later arriving on the Xbox 360.

Ok wow, the text is small. I don't want to miss anything good. Here's a small few things I got that I loved.

World supposedly 20% bigger than Skyrim's, says development team. [Tentative, obviously]

I'll be back with more.
