A lesson learned: Just because a PG member has a greater number of positive reviews does not essentially mean that you will always buy a product in working condition from him.
Here's what happened:
PG member named THESAAD posted an ad for selling his two PSUs:
http://www.pakgamers.com/forums/computers-hardware/45149-2-x-psu-s-550-watt-450-watt.html
I made a bid for the Sparkle 550W PSU (pictures of which he immediately deleted after selling it to me). I offered him 2K in PM. He told me he got a higher offer of 2500 something, but due to some unknown reason he PMed me after a few days telling me that the deal did not get finalized so I can buy it for 2K. Upon that I agreed and we decided to meet. As I am a busy professional so I could not go to his home to test the PSU. Considering his good rating on PakGamers I thought to trust him on this and decided to get the PSU without checking it on the spot. He handed over the PSU to me and assured that it is working with many high-end graphics cards, however there was no deadline decided as when will I check and confirm it is working.
Due to my busy schedule and holidays, I could not purchase an HDD for my PC for few days, but then after two weeks I managed to complete my PC rig and plugged his PSU and pressed the PC's power button. What happens? The green LED on my motherboard blinks and dims as if there is something wrong and then turns off. No response, no nothing. I brought this PSU to another place after traveling 17 KMs just to test it on my friend's PC with 24pin mobo, again, it did not work.
I called THESAAD and politely told him about the issue with his PSU, and told him I bought this PSU without checking beforehand just because I was considerate of his past deals at PakGamers. Upon that he tells me I can trust him but he does not trust me. I was like, what the heck? Is that a way to deal? He tells me he will talk to me once he reaches home. After an hour, I tried to contact hims many times but no success. After two hours and many attempts I managed to talk to him and tried to convince him that the PSU is not working right from the start. His excuse is since two weeks have passed so there is no check warranty and he gave me working PSU. Really? where did we decided the date of check warranty? And instead of being ashamed that he gave me a DEAD PSU, he started doing hanky panky and then suddenly ended my call in the middle.
I sent him a PM on PakGamers and he did not bother to reply. I called him today and he ended the call again. Just finding the easy way to escape?
Someone might say that I should had checked the PSU as soon as I got it. Fine, I agree, but does that mean if I am a bit late then the seller can sell dead PC components?
In a best scenario, if I did check the PSU within 1 or 2 days and found it dead, then all this fraudulent THESAAD had to say was "oh, is it dead? I see", thats it? No penalty in trying to sell dead components? and trying to find a way if some of the buyers get late in checking the product and then you can have the excuse and prey on his hard-earned money? Why fuck there is not penalty for the seller if he tries to sell dead PC components?
Though I don't have a long history of buying and selling on this forum but I am a professional myself and don't like to mess up things with people; otherwise it is always easy for a buyer to get the product in check warranty, handle it in a bad way withing the agreed time of check warranty and then claim back his money saying "this product does not work".
Many of you who dealt with this prick called THESAAD, you might have good experience with him, but at least I backstabbed me and utterly told me he doesn't trust me..
Regards.
