well the truth be told then its even if illegal games are finished and cheap Rs. =999 game is made avaible u will still see 20%-30% reduction in average number of sale of games...
cuz believe me only 40-50% of total gamers in PAK owns any of the legal game...and how many ppls come online (gaming) ?? 100,000? 500,000? out of 3-4 cror (who owns good computer)

and 500,000 is more than possible (extreme limit) !!!

In my opinion there is only one solution for this problem of piracy and that is the publisher putting a fair price on game and keeping in view the financial position of gamers in developing countries.Buying a console for $300 and then paying $50 on average for every new title looks odd atleast to me.
And if piracy is completely eliminated in Pakistan than everyone knows what will happen. Those who are in the habit of buying new title every week may not even save enough money to buy two original title's per year.

Piracy is not only in Pakistan, its a big problem here in europe also. The world's largest pirate website piratebay.com is a swedish website with swedish hosts and swedes running it.The worlds biggest PSP hacker who churns out those custom firmwares,Dark alex is spanish. In my opinion most games are over priced and its the greed of the game developers which is adding to the problem. As many members over here indicated, that if the game developers sell their games at reasonable prices, many people will prefer to pay and buy, rather than download a torrent.

^ Agreed. The Difference is, in Pakistan its in the market, not underground or hidden. While downloading, is everywhere. I remember, almost everyone used Limewire (In my class in the U.S) and NOT itunes. Heck, they thought the "Pro" version is legal.

i have played pirate games in the past but i sometimes dnt like it...because i m playing great games which took a lot of effort and I admire the developers a lot.....and effort went to vain when i bought pirate copy so thts why i stop buying pirate games and I am happy with my ps3...plus when i started to buy original games i started to play them a lot...ending in every difficulty and unlocking everything...like mgs4 i unlocked every emblem and UC unlocked every trophy.....its fun

'k, to all those saying the prices for games should be more "reasonable"... Are you all fucked in the head? THE PRICES ARE PERFECTLY REASONABLE! Have any of you ever stopped to think about what kind of WORK is actually put into a game to make one from scratch? How many people are required that are specialists to work on certain features/areas of the game? How much fucking time it takes?! How much it costs the COMPANY to make it? Well, if you haven't then please do. And realize that just because you live in a country where you have the ability to steal shit, or buy it dirt cheap, doesn't mean YOU get to say what the correct price is and justify your thievery by saying, "Oh, it's too expensive... I know this game is actually only worth Rs. 200 cause that's the price that dude at Rainbow Center offered me."

      Fuck piracy!

games are overpriced in my opinion
if prices will decrease more people will be able to buy it and the sales will increase
