Nintendo Switch news will be the order of the day

The next Nintendo Direct presentation is finally upon us: It will air Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m. ET, Nintendo announced Tuesday morning.
Tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct will run for “roughly 35 minutes,” Nintendo said in a brief news release. The show will consist entirely of “information on upcoming Nintendo Switch titles, including details on Fire Emblem: Three Houses.”
Three Houses, which is set to be released this spring, will mark the Fire Emblem series’ debut on Nintendo Switch — and, in fact, will be the first Fire Emblem title for home consoles in more than a decade. Nintendo first said it was bringing the franchise to Switch during a Nintendo Direct way back in January 2017; at the time, the company planned to release the game in 2018. Nintendo announced the game as Fire Emblem: Three Houses at E3 2018.
As for the other Switch games that Nintendo will discuss Wednesday, it’s safe to say thatMetroid Prime 4 won’t be among them. The company announced in January that it isrebooting the project with a new developer, original Metroid Prime maker Retro Studios, and that it has delayed the game indefinitely.
Nintendo’s slate of upcoming Switch games includes Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Daemon X Machina, as well as a new core Pokémon title that is scheduled for “late 2019” and the next Animal Crossing game. Plus, in a recent earnings Q&A, a Nintendo executive said, “We have titles currently in development that we haven’t announced yet, some of which we’re preparing to release this year.” And of course, the company could focus on Switch indies andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate downloadable content in the Nintendo Direct.
