      The performance to visuals ratio between presets in all RE Engine games have been poor honestly.

      I think this is more a case of DMC 5's cut scenes getting a massive upgrade over RE2 such that the gameplay hit is magnified even more here. RE2's cut-scenes have got nothing on DMC 5 from what I've seen.

      eh, RE2 has maybe 1/10th of cut-scenes in total that DMC5 has, but yeah the difference is likely more noticeable because of the jarring quality shift between the regular game play and when you hit one of the game's many extremely high quality cinematics. RE2 on the other hand is incredibly consistent in the visual fidelity across game play and scenes, heck most scenes are near-instant shifts from game play to scenes, unlike DMC where the screen goes black and the game has to load the much higher quality assets in the memory.

      That being said, both games have really amazing high's for visuals in their own regards. DMC5 just seemingly has lower low's.

      Most of the feature set is just implemented poorly. Take AO as an example:






      Never have I seen HBAO+ looking this bad in any game. Coverage is poor. Nero and most objects on screen seem completely unaffected by it. Two examples of good implementation for reference:

      Despite the coverage being poor, it's easy to tell that the AO settings are in effect just by switching between them (lol @ no AO).

      I'd agree with Necro on this one. If you have to use the most expensive, GPU taxing, version of AO to even *see* some kind of an implementation in-game (and not a very good one at that), that means the implementation is not good. DF's "recommended" settings for people (which most people would already be using in most cases anyway) also recommends using SSAO instead of HBAO or HDAO. Resident Evil 2's general implementation of SSAO itself is so much better that DF recommends using it over the much more expensive HDAO and just under HBAO.

      In general, DMC seems to have poor implementation of some of these common effects during game play segments (in cut-scenes everything is fantastic) which is weird because the last 2 games on the same engine (RE2 and RE7) made great use of them.

      This is how I would rank the current RE engine games based on their tech/impressiveness: DMC 5's cut-scenes > Resident Evil 2 > Resident Evil 7 > DMC 5's game play.

      Sorry for being out of topic here but I cant stand to see such humiliation of graphics here, why not have ReShade, as it will be 1000+ times better, cause ReSahde is the real essence of PC Gaming.

      P.S. I know it is just for the critique of what developers failed to deliver but still, we have a back door to put the patch on things .
