NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti to counter AMD VEGA 56 Soon - Benchmark Leaked

This morning several sites are reporting upon rumours that an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is in the pipeline. The source appears to be a user on a Chinese tech forum, as linked to by MyDrivers. In addition HardOCP has published a 'potato-cam' shot of some system specs which includes a 'GTX 1070Ti STRIX 08G' in its parts list.

According to MyDrivers, Nvidia is holding back its Volta consumer graphics cards to Q1 next year as the AMD RX Vega launch didn't really exert any competitive pressure on it. We have heard such theories put forward previously (scroll down), from Taiwan's DigiTimes.

Nevertheless, Nvidia wishes to counterattack by adjusting its Pascal GPU lineup and feels that introducing a revamped GTX 1070 is just the ticket. So it is readying a new GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, according to the sources. This is the third 'Titanium' Pascal card, alongside the existing 1080 Ti and 1050 Ti, it is noted.

Another Source: NVIDIA Readying a GeForce GTX 1070 Refresh; GTX 1070 Ti | techPowerUp

At this time, it is still a rumour.
But, if that's true and 1070 Ti is in pipeline, then VEGA 56 would going to be helpless.

VOLTA is GOLD now. Not expecting here any time soon; 2018 early was the rumours for its launch.
They delayed the Volta and 1070 Ti could be the reason. Let's see.

nvidia has earned the right to milk this cash cow. AMD got no chance this time.

There is no reason for 1070ti to exist when there is already a 1080 at a marginal cost.

According to the report, the GTX 1070 Ti will be carved out of the "GP104" silicon by disabling just 1 out of 20 streaming multiprocessors, compared to the GTX 1070 desktop, which has 5 out of 20 disabled. This results in a CUDA core count of 2,432, which is just 128 fewer than that of the GTX 1080. The clock speeds of the GTX 1070 Ti are higher than the GTX 1070, too. It comes with a core clock of 1607 MHz, 1683 MHz GPU Boost, and an untouched 8.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory clock. Interestingly, the TDP of this chip is 180W, which is the same as the GTX 1080. NVIDIA will reportedly launch the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti in early-November, 2017, at a price that's 12.5 percent cheaper than the GTX 1080.

      • The specifications, again from the top:
      • SKU Name: GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
      • Silicon: 16 nm "GP104" Pascal
      • CUDA cores: 2,432
      • TMUs: 152
      • ROPs: 64
      • Memory size and type: 8 GB, GDDR5
      • GPU Clocks: 1607 MHz core, 1683 MHz GPU Boost
      • Memory clock and bandwidth: 8.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective), 256 GB/s.
      • TDP: 180W
      • Expected MSRP: 12.5 percent cheaper than GTX 1080
      • Expected launch date: Before 10th November, 2017

The significance of having being GX 1080 nvidia market would mitigate after 1070 Ti.

      GTX 1070 Ti benchmarks leaked.

Besides, Ryzen 7 1800 vs Intel i7 7700K difference is exponential.

      Core clock at 1683MHZ O_O

mine runs at 2100MHZ GTX 1070 AMP Extreme

it would be great to see how it compares to my GPU.
