PlayStation Vita owners looking to get their loot on are no doubt anxious for the long-awaited Borderlands 2 to arrive on the powerful handheld. Well, they may not have to wait too much longer if a now-deleted Tweet issued earlier today carries any weight.

Posted earlier today on the official 2K Games International Twitter account, the above image (courtesy of Joystiq) shows a now-deleted Tweet announcing that Borderlands 2 will be arriving on the PS Vita on March 18th. Since that time however, a new Tweet was issued retracting the announcement and stating that the date was incorrect.

"We apologize for a tweet about a release date for Borderlands 2 on Vita which was posted in error. The release date mentioned is incorrect."

Despite the removal of the Tweet and subsequent cover up, it seems odd that such a specific date would be on the ready for 2K International which, we should point out, handles activity outside the US. As a result, that March 18th date might not have pertained to a North American release date, but it sure seemed to indicate that the game would be launching SOMEWHERE in the next couple of months.

So, do you think 2K is indeed planning on releasing the Borderlands 2 port to the PS Vita this March or do you believe that this was truly all a mistake and that the game might be released later on down the road?
