Yes, then go for a bridge camera. DSLR is for enthusiasts. Read Opethian's post from the previous page. Theres no point in getting a DSLR if you won't have the budget to get good lens.

Bro I will get the money to invest in lens after two three months. Till then, I will get started with the standard (kit lens). I can invest upto 10-15k for it. Is it sufficient enough?

10-15k isn't enough. Trust me on this one man. Go back a few pages, I've made a list of cameras in the 30-35k range. Check out their sample pictures online. If you still feel that they're not good enough for you, then go for a DSLR.

It's really heartening Babar that you take the time out to give such detailed replies and share your own experience.

I've gone through some of your work on 500PX and it's really breathtaking! And now I've got some queries of my own regarding your experience.

      1. How does 60D compare with 650D? I ask because I read a review which says that with the 60D, Canon has moved the X0D series from semi-pro to enthusiast-level. And 650D is already in the enthusiast bracket. Your thoughts on this.

      2. About your lenses: Tokina 11-16mm and Rokinon 8mm. Are they both f2.8 or less? Their price? Why did you go with them instead of Sigma?

      3. Leaving canon and nikon aside, how do tokina, sigma and rokinon compare with each other, in terms of performance, cost, and value for money?

      4. You mentioned your preference for canon with one of the reasons being 3rd party software like Magic Lantern. But ML is for video features only or do you use it in still photography as well? In what way?

      5. What other 3rd party softwares do you use on your Canon?

if u want an honest opinion if u cant buy decent lenses then dnt come to DSLRs ... but if u have plans for upgrades ... then see which focal lengths u use mostly ... what is ur style of photography ... ru a photoshop editior/retoucher or a genuine photographer ...
like i have just 4 lenses ... i dnt shoot portraits that much ... i also dnt shoot birds also ... so i have cheapest best image quality lenses out there (50mm 1.8f and 70-300 IS USM) ... i mainly shoot landscape ... so i spent my most money on best landscape lenses ... Tokina 11-16mm and Rokinon 8mm Fisheye ... from image quality point of view both r outstanding ... but here again i saw best value for money ... i could have bought canon 16-35 f2.8L (more than 2lac lens) or canon 8-11 fishseye lens (also more than 1.5lac lens) but i got almost similar image quality at much cheaper price ...

My honest opinion 60D or 650D both are good beginner cameras, But Ive used the video capabilities of 60D and they are amazing with options to shoot at 60fps. Canon lenses are relatively cheaper as Opetian suggested lenses vary in performance but you need to determine your own need. 50mm 1.8 prime cost 10k for canon while 25k for nikon entry DSLRs. A perfect beginner DSLR kit must have a 50/35mm 1.8 its cheap but amazing amazing lens. 70-300 with IS and kit lens. People do criticize its potential but during day 18mm wide is good enough focal range.
I mostly utilize my camera 70% on family weddings so 50mm prime produce so good results and is must for portrait photography. Also it is advisable to invest in good flash unit.
