PlayStation Paris Games Week Media Showcase: When is it and can you watch it online?
Although it skipped Gamescom in August, Sony will be hosting a PlayStation Live press event at the beginning of Paris Games Week this month.
It will be showing the latest footage from many PS4 games and, possibly, a couple of hardware announcements are on the cards.
Here then are the details for the event, how you will be able to watch it live and our thoughts on what might be shown.
When is the PlayStation Live from Paris Games Week Media Showcase?
Sony’s PlayStation Live event will kick off at 3pm GMT on Monday 30 October. It’s worth remembering that clocks go back in the UK at 2am on the day before, 29 October, but not yet in the US, so those Stateside are four and seven hours behind on the east and west coasts respectively until 5 November.
Is the PlayStation Live from Paris Games Week Media Showcase being livestreamed?
There are plans to livestream the PlayStation Live from Paris Games Week press conference.
You will also be able to watch it on a dedicated webpage at playstation.com/pgw, on PlayStation’s Twitch channel, its YouTube channel and even on its Facebook page.
What will be announced during the PlayStation Live PGW event?
PlayStation itself has said that “you’ll get a look at some spectacular new games coming to PS4 and PS VR”, which is fairly vague.
We expect there will be new footage of God of War, the Horizon: Zero Dawn – The Frozen Wilds expansion, Days Gone and Detroit: Being Human.
We also expect to see some new third-party footage, including Call of Duty: WWII considering the tight relationship between Sony and Activision. We hope to see, but not sure it’ll happen, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us 2, Spider-Man and Death Stranding.
In hardware terms, we doubt there will be any refresh to the consoles, but the much-rumoured updated PSVR is more than likely to be unveiled officially.
