Hitman developer IO Interactive is hosting a live reveal for what fans thought would be a new season of content for the game.
There are now a few reasons to believe a new Hitman game may be on the way. The official Hitman account sent out a cryptic tweet today that points to some kind of reveal on June 7, which is the same day that publisher Warner Bros. is holding a pre-E3 2018 reveal event. The developer has been teasing this Hitman reveal for a while, culminating with a tweet yesterday asking players to tune in to a Warner Bros. livestream on June 7.
Shortly after the site went live, the logo for Hitman 2 was accessible before Warner wised up and removed it. The stream is still running footage of what looks to be a race garage, with the logo for Hamsun – a fictional company in the game’s universe, appearing briefly.A tweet from the WB Games account shows a race car with the brand “Hamsun” on it; that could be a reference to the fictitious oil company referenced in Hitman Season 1. A more direct indication that Hitman 2 is coming is that a logo for Hitman 2 was found on WB’s official website
Here’s the logo (via ResetERA), which confirms the game will in fact be called Hitman 2. It’s not clear if this means we should expect a completely different game from the original, or if that’s simply what IO is going with for the title of its second season.
