Enermax Technology was founded in 1990 and at time it was well known for their quality power supply units build in their own factories. Enermax built its name by offering some quality products to end users in various categories such as Power supply (as major), Cases, Cooling solutions and related accessories. As the time passes, the market competition gradually lifted, especially in the OEM market, which affect the Enemrax’s market share. They were OEM designer, but not anymore, at present Enermax Power supply units are actually not manufacture by Enermax rather preferring external factory for high quality components
Revolution X’T ll series is success of revolution XT and is powered by Channel well Technology (CWT). There are many known brands used CWT manufactured Power supply units such as Corsair, Thermaltake, Antec etc. Since this unit is manufactured by CWT we can expect something powerful.

It’s a hybrid modular design with flat cables accommodate in much better cable management. While you have the opportunity to use only needed cables, which also avoids mess.
The Package & The Content
While I am doing unboxing of Power supply I am going to share details on it. A Plain Black Box with colorful Brand and product name on it looks cool. Enermax has good designers that I have to admit. On top of the box, the product line is texted in yellow color at middle while the wattage is stickered at bottom, 80 PLUS GOLD right next to it. The other side of the box contains most specifications and features regarding to Power supply.
Around the sides, Features descriptions are listed.
Inside the box, I first saw the plastic wrapping coating which contains PSU, with accessories next to it. And a Manual lies on top of the PSU.
While I unleashed the PSU along with several accessories and cables. We have Power supply itself, Cord, Cables in plastic bag, cord cable, Enermax plastic film bag, CordGuard in small plastic bag.
I placed all the accessories a side and bring together Power supply and its cables. There are several cables includes
- 1x 24P MB
- 1x 4+4P(8P) CPU
- 2x 2x 6+2P(8P) PCI-E

From cables this power supply units is guaranteeing no limitation on power connections. For future proofing, this PSU got everything
Enermax Revo XT II 650W – The Exerior
So finally we are at weapon, Enermax has designed this Power supply, keeping in mind the Market’s trend. Since this revolution X’T is a successful series from Enermax, they opted similar design layout. With some minor changes it looks more or less first generation. Enermax technology is using quality build design, a matte black finishing which I prefer on my products. The scratchless material, won’t be that easy to scratch this power I reckon. While the top contains the specification sticker with in detail specs regarding the power, voltages and amperes.
The Fan side, Enermax badge is placed at the middle of the Grill, presenting its Company.
Meanwhile, the Unit’s both sides have a series description labelled in a light yellow color scheme. I feel it brilliant work.
The front rear side contains Cable connections demonstrating hybrid modular design. ATX 24pin and 8 pin is internally built while the pheripheral and 2x GPU slots are dedicated as modular. some informaiton related to pins are stacked next to them.
The ATX 24 pin Cable and 8 pin CPU along side.
Enermax Revo XT II 650W – The Interior
The inside of PSU is unleashed and it is pretty populated from various components.
Enermax using Nipplon Chemi-Con (400V, 560uF each, 2000h @ 105 °C,. this brand unit is renown as one of the efficient capacitor among several products. Both primary and secondary phases using 105C capacitors, However, it won’t much of benefit if we see from technical point of view rather a good marketing strategy for a product.
At middle we can see three transformers in yellow taping are referring to E216944 from Viking of B-2 Class.
The cooling fan carries Enermax’s logo and uses a twister bearing, which offers a long lifetime. Enermax cites a 160,000-hour MTBF for this fan.

Power Supply Testing is not any simple task as any other components of PC Hardware. Since there are so many electric components involve in Power supply used to deliver power to all of the PC components. Some High quality equipment requires to measure power consumption and voltages. However, they are highly expensive not affordable for even companies. In this regard, we definitely not in the position to afford such luxurious items so we went with Common but very effective Kill-A-WATT in order to measure the Wattage. We are also using Decibel Sound Meter effective for measuring fan noise of PC component. In addition for checking Default rating of Power supply to identify if it is 100% or not, we will use Thermaltake Power Supply Tester.
To start with, we first check Power supply power voltages if they are working fine or not. for this we used Thermaltake Power Supply Tester
Then we head over to check the idle figures of this power supply and we left PC as idles for about 30 minutes. The Whole system was hardly consuming 130W power when stays in idle. Then we head over to find out what CPU productivity through various stress program Such as Prime95, Intel Burn Test and AIDA64. We ran each tests for half an hour and with 5% error of margin we have the Power draw of about 195W maximum while the minimum power draw monitored was 160W. At this stage the voltages are tabled as above and they are still good if not the best. Such as at +12v Rail we are getting 12.000v as minimum while 12.192v as maximum we gathered. In order to perceive the good and stable power supply voltages, the official range set between 11.4 to 12.6v. Enermax 650W is pretty much lying within the limits and in fact showing its good health.
Later we ready our system for whole System testing. For this we utilizes couple of Games and a heavy GPU testing benchmark. Metro Game is known for utilizing Game cards and whole system effectively. in Metro Last LIght game our peak wattage was 346 while minimum watts monitored were 290W. For further testing we also included Battlefield 4 game just to double the Power supply power draw performance.
For extended Test, we went through Overclock system, in fact we did only i5 4670K at 4.4GHz we tested system again in Metro Last light Game. When we measure the power draw it maxes out to 377 wattage while the minimum power draw during Metro Last Light gaming test was 317W which seems the power draw from a wall socket is increased by 16% mainly due to Processor overclocking. Under this Test, Power supply is 100% stressed, with the efficiency of 90% it drawing out 377W from wall socket.
We would wait to see the ripple testing from other platforms.
Final Words & Conclusion
As there are many power Supplies in the market, but Enermax’s Revo X’T II 650W are extremely well balanced and efficient, especially when it comes to efficiency, features, performance at high loads and the acoustic impression. The exterior build is absolutely top notch, they have used special design on each side which avoids the scratches if you even tries. As for connectors, This hybrid model PSU got 6 flat cables considering the time, they are following trendy builds. Help in much better cable management comparable to traditional sleeved cables. SATA and molex are usually more than enough for any build, other cables are 1x 24 pin ATX, 2x 6 + 2 PCIe and one 8 pin for CPU functionality. So it got more than enough cables.
Coming over to Performance, first this product entitled with GOLD plus certification, which means you would expect something 87% least efficient power draw even under very high loads. In our testing methodology, Enermax 650W didn’t cross 377W power at 12.092v on +12V single rail, showing a good tolerance level. Power Supply have strength to deliver power up to 90% efficiency. Since we tested Power supply under cooler environment I: e Ambient 21C the Power supply definitely would perform better under such operating temperature. A single high GPU as our tested GPU 980 Ti scenario easily kept power draw at nominal limits as in our case 377W at full load. Moreover, it could easily manage 1070 SLI Base system provided that 4 core i7 along. As for Fan noise, we hardly hear anything coming out from Power Supply, Enermax fan did well for making the operation very silent.
We will surely talk about those couple of features, Enermax is offering along with this revolutionize unit. The Heat Guard, is something I have quite impressive since it enables PSU fan to keep spinning even after you shutdown your PC. I measured some 10-20 seconds delayed in Fan stopped which surely be helpful. The Cord Guard is another Add-On Enermax coupled with PSU as physical benefit. It helps in avoiding accidental shut down, however, It doesn’t seem much effective since Cord cable usually fix once it plugged in. But a plus point for those who are looking product and pay for additional features. While we mention few features, this unit is no behind as operating at high temperatures. It is also entitled to perform well even under 40C.
Price and Value
Enermax Revo X’T II 65W Single Rail power supply is available at 108 US Dollar as a retail price. We have taken a price point from amazon. More or less this power supply performing as well as others. I do not find their price strategy any irregular or that do not fall in valuable products. In fact they are almost charging reasonable for what they are offering. We have seen the competitive Power supplies in market currently selling at bit higher range, which more or less perform closer to what Enermax delivering. In this regard, I found It valuable. Hence I am approving this Quality built based on our methods.
