Valve today announced and launched a new Steam application for both iOS and Android devices. The new app “Steam Mobile” allows users to engage in activities such as chatting with other users, purchasing Steam games and viewing profiles all through your iOS or Android device.

Currently the app is in a closed beta and people must be invited before they can test the app. To attain an invitation you must download the app and login with your Steam profile, this allows Valve to know you are interested in the app and select users will be allowed access.
