During Activision's recent earnings call, CEO Mike Griffith said that we'll finally see more details on the next Tony Hawk game at E3, Kotaku reports. Chances are good that the reveal will include Activision's worst-kept secret, the skateboard peripheral, or at least that the company will confirm the device. It's still hard to tell if Activision is planning a Tony Hawk release this year, since we still haven't seen so much as a screenshot, but E3 would be the right place for such an announcement.
The series has been quiet lately, since the critical success of Skate pushed Activision to work on a "Tony Hawk Innovation Plan" to compete. The next game is being worked on by a new developer, rumored to be Chicago-based Robomodo.
The motion controls have been nearly confirmed by Hawk himself, and only a few months ago anonymous sources claimed they had seen it in action. According to rumors, the controller will put the focus on "grabbing and manipulating" the board, and the Wii version will use its own controller instead of making use of the Wii Balance Board. Hopefully all this can be cleared up at E3 when we get our hands, and feet, on it.
