Why is Modern Warfare 2 lagging on my i3?

I have an i3 530, a P7H55V, an Asus 4890 Voltage Tweak Edition, 2GB KVR and 1TB Seagate hdd are running at stock speeds. I am running a fully updated Windows 7 Ultimate and have the latest drivers. The P7H55V bios settings are on default. When I run COD Modern Warfare 2 at 1080p (without AA) the game is showing a little lag. Currently I do not want to overclock anything. Whats the best solution because according to a few people my system shouldn't be showing any lag at these settings.

agar stuttering hu rahi hai... what u can do is... start the game... minimize the game ... start task manager... go to processes then right click on iwsp.exe( or something like this, i cant remember) click on set affinity.... then a new window will open u will see core 0 and core 1, just unclick core 1 and leave the tick mark on core 0... then try ur game...

He doesn't need 4GB RAM in Windows 7. Atleast not for MW2.

When you mean lag, do you mean just frame rate issues even during single player or lags like in a multiplayer game?

stupid reply........................@Zasha What type of lag you are facing? lag in multiplayer during shooting or a continuous drop in frames? if game lags in multiplayer during shooting there is no solution for it regarding processor or ram ..its because the players are very far away from you ..some thousand kilometers away

at different moments it starts jerking. Not continuously but every now and then, just as blade described. And its during single player offline campaign. So I am forced to play at 720p (without AA) which is below my monitors native res

I have a inferior PC than you still I am able to play MW2 at 4x AA smoothly without any lag. I think you need to update your GPU drivers or scan your HDD for viruses.
Do your other games lag like MW2? No? Then there must be something wrong with the ISO or installed files.
