Recognizing MTP device in place of MSC device

Hi, i was wondering if someone could help me with a problem concerning an external device i have..

the problem is that the device when plugged into USB shows up as a MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) Device
i want it to show up as a MSC (Mass Storage Class) device....

the device in question is a small 4gb Hitachi DMP450N Media Player....

its very very annoying being forced to sync it with windows media player... not being able to create folders.. or even playlists......

according to the manual... which ive read thoroughly.. even if its showing as a MTP device...... i should have an icon in my computer showing it...

      I DONT .

Im running on windows xp sp2

please if anyone knows how to make it show up on my computer? or change it from MTP to MSC help me out?

.........nevermind after some research i found out that if you have windows xp sp 2 or 3 installed.... you must upgrade to windows media player 10 or 11 to get direct access to a MTP device... and it acts just like a MSC device that way..

microsoft is so retarded i need to switch to linux...

      ..... problem solved...

      close thread plz
