PC Freezing randomly (even while booting)

My PC randomly freezes in Windows 7, XP and even in the BIOS. So its got nothing to do with the OS, I am sure its a hardware related issue.

It's not the GPU eithier, I took my GPU out and the system freezes with the integerated graphics card as well.

I have also underclocked my CPU, even below the stock speed yet it still freezes. Temperature is fine 45-55 C also.

I have also updated the bios to the latest revision, but th eproblem still persists.

When problem first occured, I reseated everything CPU, Graphic card and making sure everything is tight. The pc ran fine for 2 days until now where the problem is reoccuring. I would just restart the PC and within 5-10 minutes it would freeze randomly.

      My System conguration

      Dual Core E5300
      ASUS p5kpl-cm
      Kingston 2GB ram
      Cooler Master 460W

Is it the memory? Motherboard or PSU?

if its the PSU or motherboard, then why pc was working flawless for 2days and then the problem started again.

      So is the problem RAM?

Freezing is something the PSU wouldnt cause (it'd simply shutdown/restart) so we can count that out.

Any of the other three main hardware could be the likely culprit. Try to swap in someone else's RAM and have a go, else its most probably the motherboard thats failing.

if it was the motherboard, then why did my system work for 2 days flawlessly before the problem started reoccurring again. what does this suggest??, fault with the ram chips or motherboard or PSU?

Try switching the ram modules. Since freezing of the system is majority ram related.

This is really weird, today Pc has been running flawless with no freeze for 6 hours. What does this suggest? It cant be a PSU problem or a Motherboard problem otherwise problem would definitely reoccur.

---------- Post added at 05:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 PM ----------

just ran memtest86+, and it would freeze after 14min, and when restarting the system into windows, it started freezing again. So does this confirm that the memory is at fault here?

Hmm, Could be the memory. Try using one ram at a time and run memtest.. Or try rams indifferent slots..
